We'll be at BWI on July 10th for 3 nights. I received an email yesterday thanking us for choosing BWI and letting us know there may be noise due to construction. And, informing us that Flying Fish restaurant was closed along with the bakery, etc. I was aware of the closures but anyone have any information on the noise at the resort, etc?.

Because they sent the email, I'm wondering how disruptive the noise and appearance of the area will be.
Thanks.

Haven't stayed there with the construction, however, walked by there to go to eat at the ESPN restaurant. Construction workers were visible, meaning they were walking around when we arrived. Flying Fish is all boarded up, so when we went directly down the outside stairs to the boardwalk area instead of walking through the lobby, we were required to go to the left instead of walking along Flying Fish to make the right to go to ESPN. Didn't seem noisy, but again didn't stay actually at BWI.

We stayed at BWI in April and got the same letter. Flying Fish was boarded up, etc. I didn't hear any construction noise. They were actually on my floor and in the room next door replacing the balcony door locks I think. And I think they were also painting the trim outside right around my room as well. We weren't bothered by them at all. In any case, I think they only work from 9am-7pm or something, so even if there was noise, we weren't in the room when it was going on. I don't know what work they are specifically doing now though. If its a concern, you can ask to be away from where Flying Fish is.

Just returned from 5 nights at BWI. They are repainting the exterior surfaces of the interior courtyard, so a little noise from moving the boomlifts around and little from the paint scrapping tools. The walkways get closed off where they are working so a few minor detours if trying to walk outside. As previously stated they start around 8:30 but seem to get done pretty early in afternoon. Can't comment on the noise level, but construction walls and work still going on at Flying Fish and right below some of the balconies that give out on the boardwalk.

Boardwalk Bakery was open while we were there.

When you say interior courtyard do you mean where the quiet pool is located on the inn side? Did it look like they were almost finished or just starting? Thanks.

Yes, the quiet pool end on the Inn side is where they were working when we were there. They were working on the rooms along the curved building so not sure where they stood from a completion stand point.

Thanks for the updates. I hope its not too intrusive by the quiet pool. That really is one of my favorite parts of BWI.
