We are currently booked at AKL club level and we have stayed there before and love it.
I just checked and we can get the BW club level for an AP rate so now they 2 resorts are in the same price range.
Which would you choose?
I would really like specifics on the food offerings at BW? At AKL, they have oatmeal with all the toppings. Do they have this at BW?
Also, is there alot of seafood offerings during the evenings? I don't really like seafood.
We love the offerings at AKL.

Lastly, what would be good room to request at BW-standard room club level?

I like the BW location much better than AKL. It's just so nice to walk or watertaxi to the parks instead of waiting on a bus.
I wasn't impressed by the BW concierge, though I hear they get excellent reviews and have a very loyal following. The view from the BW lounge was not impressive at all last summer, while the AKL's view is wonderful. If you are used to watching the savanna, looking out over an empty BW courtyard may not seem nearly as appealing.

We vastly prefer BC/YC overall but especially the YC for concierge. Many of the water view club level rooms look directly down on Stormalong Bay and balconies have views of evening firewroks from both MGM and Epcot. Just Beautiful! The price at BC/YC would be the same as BWI. Not meaning to muddy the water too much, but is it possible that might be an option for your dates also?

The BWI pool didn't work for us last summer, it was crowded, and seemed even smaller than the pool at moderate CSR. Also, it is not an entry level pool and at 40" minimum depth was too deep for DD7 to stand up in.

Breakfast offerings at both BWI and BC/YC lounges were very similar as I remember, pastries, donuts, melons & other fresh fruits, cereals, ect. Snacks were identical. There were different entrees/appetizers sent up from each resort's restraurants in the evening on a rotating basis. The evening desserts and cordials always seem about the same to us wherever we stay on property though they may differ a little depending on the night too.

Besides the pool and staff, we prefer the YC/BC because of the way the CL rooms are mostly located on seperate floors from standard rooms. I like the added security of the elevator key and dedicated Club Level floor, especially when DD18 was in those early tween and teen independance years.
At BWI, the CL rooms are mixed in with standard rooms, some divided by a door, but still very accessible to other guests. At the BC or YC when you get off the elevator on the 5th floor, you are standing directly in front of the CMs' desks and not only do they remember your name and your children but they are just in a better position - IMHO - to notice what goes on around them while, when we stayed at BWI, the desk in the hallway was vacant quite often with CMs located inside the lounge, more out of sight if that makes sense.

BWI CL is awesome:cool1: While we have never stayed @ the AKL, we have also stayed CL at the BC. The BWI CL goes far and beyond the call of duty. They make it a point to make sure everyone they encounter has a great time while staying with them. They have become part of our family and vice versa. The lounge may not offer a fantastic view, but does offer a view of Illuminations. I love watching the fireworks with a glass of wine in hand out on the balcony. This is fantastic especially when the weather is poor. The food for the evening comes from Spoodles, ESPN, and the Flying Fish. The deserts come from the BW Bakery. I have never been to the big pool since we enjoy using the quiet pool which we find is very relaxing.:cutie: Most of the CL rooms are located on the 4th floor, with some on the 3rd floor, as well as some of the garden suites. In order to enter the 4th floor you do need a room access key. When staying on the 3rd floor or garden suites, there is a secret access to take in order to get to the lounge. We are heading to the BWI CL in fact tomorrow for a week and cannot wait.

We've done both. AKL one time, BWI 3 times and we're scheduled for 2 more trips at BWI this year.

For us, hands down, BWI concierge is the place to go. We LOVE the CMs at BWI and the location can't be beat.

We've done both...

AKL CL = Beautiful lounge area, great food offerings, only down side is that you are a bus ride from every park, and there is no nightlife.

BWI CL = Beautiful lounge also, but the food offerings were hit and miss for us. They rotate the food from the different restaurants on the Boardwalk. Some were better than others. But the location of the BWI wins with its close proximity to Epcot and the Studios. Also it has much better nightlife. The only downside is the long maze of hallways you have to walk to get to the Innkeeper's Club. After a long night in the parks it seems to take forever just to get back to your room.

Good luck making your choice! :thumbsup2

Ok, now the only thing with AP rate is the BW club level deluxe room.
I understand these rooms are bigger with a sitting area, but what are the views?

I read on here that they had Boardwalk views, but on Disney's site the description says garden or parking lot views?

Is it possible to get a parking lot view with any of the club rooms?

The CL rooms at the BWI have many different views because that whole floor sort of twists and turns. Some rooms overlook the rose garden, some the Boardwalk, some rooms can view the high fireworks of Illuminations, some views aren't very good, etc, etc.... if I were you I'd just make a note on your reservation which view you prefer and hopefully you'll get it. :) We were overlooking the rose garden and could see the fireworks, also we were very close to the lounge, which was nice.

My understanding is that the deluxe rooms are BW view only. Unfortunately, my understanding and Disney's may differ! I am *pretty* sure though. Either way, both views are lovely.

I booked a deluxe concierge room on our last trip because I wanted a guaranteed boardwalk view, and the experts on the board assured me that all deluxe rooms had a bw view. Well, we ended up getting switched to 2 garden suites because of an overbooking at the resort, but I asked in the lounge out of curiosity. I was told that all deluxe rooms do have a bw view.

We must have ended up with the worst room - it directly overlooked the ESPN satelite dishes and you could hear the road quite clearly :sad2: Thankfully I spoke to an understanding CM who moved us into the only available room - directly next to the door leading to the CL, but it was great - it had a side window as well so lots of light and a great view of Illuminations.

Ugh, what a crummy view! :sad2: I'm glad they were able to move you! The first room we got when we checked-in didn't have a daybed, which we had requested, and it was very close to the entrance door to the Inkeeper's Club... not the lounge door but the other main door you have to enter first with your key. Luckily they were able to move us to the other room I described... which was much better. ;)

I really loved the BWI CL but I'm apprehensive of booking again in case I end up with that awful room again and they're unable to move me.

I agree. We loved the lounge, and loved the staff, but the location of the club level is so inconvenient in my opinion, (that crazy maze of hallways!) and the views are so random and unexpected, we haven't been back since our stay in May 06. I wish they would break the club level rooms down into categories like standard view, garden view, boardwalk view, etc, then you'd know what kind of view you were getting. If you booked standard view, paid less money than other people who booked garden view or boardwalk view, and found you were overlooking satellite dishes when you arrived, then you wouldn't be surprised! ;) Am I right??? :cool2:

Now that would be a great idea ::yes:: This is why I've booked for the YC CL, I know I'll get a water view room if I pay for it.
