I'm booking two studios for next year because we are taking my mom. I want to book one preferred room and one standard room but I would like them to be close together (by request). It looks like my best bet would be to book pool/garden and standard to have the best chance at getting them close together....? Can anyone confirm that? Also, anyone ever book two studios and get them close together?

Yes, the pool/garden view rooms are opposite the standard rooms. After booking I'd email or chat with MS and have them add "traveling with reservation #XXX" to your reservation and they should be at least in the same hallway.

I did this last year with 2 standard studios and 1 two bedroom. The studios were next to each other and our 2br two units down.

I think your logic is right in booking garden/pool view because there are just so many more of those types of rooms than the standard or boardwalk view rooms (of which there are very very few). I would make that your first (and only?) request to help the chances of being near each other and I would not do online check-in but check in at the front desk and if the rooms aren't near each other ask if there's any chance that they can find something that works. They should be able to reference that in your reservation as well.

I booked a pool/garden for one night and then boardwalk view for the rest of the stay. The two rooms were so close together that it would have been just as easy to move my stuff directly, without packing my suitcase!
