Boardwalk Bride's PJ Morocco/Canada/Attic/SCP updates 01/09!!

Thanks everyone, and thanks for the dancing bananas!! :goodvibes

Apparently it will take about 2 weeks for the LOA to come, which is fine, since we still haven't opened a US bank account, so it gives us time to do it.

Okay, so I am a HUGE procrastinator when it comes to anything in life. It is okay, since my best work is done last minute anyway, lol. Anyway, I was searching for carnival/circus themes, and I came across an old disboards one. It was someone who used the wonder's of life pavilion, and now I want it!!

ViewofWonders.jpg

What do you ladies think? I mean, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Attic, and I think it is soooo us, but I am really getting into the theme now, and the Wonder's of Life clearly suits it. Oh, so many decisions! :confused3

I also made a new inspiration board, that combines the carnival theme with my colours. It is pretty much a mix of my first candyland inspiration board, and my colour inspiration board. :rotfl: But pictures are pretty, so here ya go:

carnivalinspir.png

I am working on narrowing down choices for centerpeices, flowers and also for carnival foods to add. I will post them later when I have more time to combine them all!

I totally missed this!!! I know you said that it was a bit too pricey but OMG I love it!!! It is absolutely perfect for you!!

First of all, LOVE the Wonders of Life Pavilion. DisneyBrideToni had to have her Dessert Party moved inside b/c of rain and it was held there. She has a ton of awesome pics from there. Also, it would fit your theme perfectly. However, having it there would be more $$$ and well, I think the Attic is great too!

Oh, and that's great to hear about your possible at home reception! DF and I are having a very casual, BBQ-esque party when we come home. Standard catered party food (chicken, pasta, potato salad, etc). I just need to find a place to host it... maybe my sister will let me borrow her house! LOL. Hopefully, it will all work out that you are able to have exactly what you want and it will stay in your budget!

I know, I love it :goodvibes I don't know if I want to be inside though....since it will still be kind of cold at home in April, I want to enjoy Florida weather as much as possible! It's going to be a tough call....I wish we could do both!

Okay, so I just finished my massive report for my consulting job, and although I am behind on school work, I need to take the day off and do fun things, and rest! So I put together a little montage of carnival food!

foodinsp.png

I'm going to try and add some into the reception, some in the dessert party, and a lot at the at home reception if we have one. Here are all the items I came up with, if anyone has anymore, please let me know!!!

Popcorn
Caramel Apples
Candy Apples
Lemonade
Funnel Cakes
Fries
Churros
Cotton Candy
Snow cones
Pretzels
Nuts
Fried Candy Bars
Hot dogs
Nachos
Ice Cream
Pizza
Watermelon
Toffee
Fudge
Peanut Bark
Caramel Popcorn
Mini Donuts
Quesidilla (sp?)

I think this will work great for us too. When we indulge in food, we don't go to a fancy restaurant, we eat junk food! So it will make us happy:goodvibes (Although I would like some proper food as well).

I'm thinking for the reception at WDW to have a regular menu, and add a few of these items in pre reception and maybe dessert. And for the dessert party, use mostly the kind of stuff listed above, if they will allow it!

OMG I think I gained 10 lbs just reading that list!!

I know the Attic's minimum is lower but have you figured out what you would actually spend...becaues if it's over the min then it doesn't really matter...Wonders of Life might be able to work too. Just a thought!

First off, congrats on getting your date!! Also that food looks yummy! And the Wonders of Life Pavillion would be so cool.

Yah, it is exciting planning all this great food when I am watching what I am eating!

Thanks! Yah it would be cool, but DF has just informed me that he likes the Attic way better, so we will see!

So I had decided on BM attire. I'll remind you of the patterns all the girls got:

M5850.gif

So my plan was to do the MOH (the first dress) in cotton candy pink, the bm dresses (the last 2) in aqua, and have red sashes around all of them. I was talking to MOH today, and she was watching the SATC movie last night, so the idea of all in separate colours came into her head. I don't think she cares, or any of the will, either way, but when we first watched that movie together, I remember saying I loved how it was all different colours.

So what do you ladies think? The original plan, or each girl in a different colour?

I don't know... I kind of like both ideas. I love the idea of blue and red only...but I can see where all different would be cute too.

What about different shades of the same color like this?

Okay, I adore the new potential reception venue!!! It's so cute and perfect for your theme! The food sounds yummy and fun!

As for the BM dresses, it's your call hon! I really dig your original plan the best to be honest though. :goodvibes Either way I think it would look nice!

Thanks for your opinions!!! DF doesn't like the idea of the three different coloured dresses at all, and I have to agree. I think it is just too much. I am thinking of all in aqua with red sashes, or one in pink, 2 in aqua with red sashes (the original plan).

I still like the original coloring for your girls. One thing I'm curious about - have you considered having your MOH in a red dress with aqua sash? Depending on the dresses, you could encourage them all to get pink crinnies to go underneath or something? Haha. :confused3 I'm thinking out loud now! I just love your colors!

That would be really cute, but I don't think they would be up for it! I think sticking to my original colouring will work best, since than I can still work my pink in!

I really like the idea of carnations since they look sort of like cotton candy if you bunch them all together! :rotfl:Anyway, here are my ideas:

flowerinspir.png

I think I might have the girls carry the blue, pink and red one (the two in the bottom middle). DO you think it looks to childish? I don't know what I should have though......maybe the one on the bottom left with the colouring of the gerbera daisy bouquet (second from left at the top)?

I'm a big fan of the bottom left one (different pinks) i think its cute but still really pretty! :thumbsup2 and it would pop off the aqua dresses nicely.

~Planning Recap~

Now that DF and I have officially signed out Letter of Agreement, sent our deposit, and booked all our vendors, we knew it was time to start narrowing down choices for our big day! With school approaching soon, and me being a part time grad student/full time worker, and DF being a full time grad student/part time worker, we decided to take this weekend to make all the decisions we could so that we are ready to roll as everything approaches. I'm going to summarize everything, in hopes that I can hear comments (good or bad) from anyone, help inspire someone (hopefully I can help) and have a place to store all my information incase my computer crashes...again :rotfl:

So to start...

The Plan

Date: Thursday April 15th, 2010
Ceremony: Noon, SBP
Reception: 1-3 at Attic, backup Flying Fish, and third backup Wonder's of Life (yes, this is how organized we have become).
Rehearsal Dinner/Welcome Party: ESPN, night before the ceremony
Theme: Carnival
Colours: Aqua, Cotton Candy Pink, Cherry Red

Vendors:

Cosmo: Patricia Lejeune
Officiant: Ron Rosenzweig

Bridal Attire:

My dress:

Crinnie:

Shoes:

Yah, okay. The shoes are not cotton candy pink....but many of my dis girls voted for them...so they stay!:goodvibes

Jewelry:
Since my dress is so detailed at the top, I don't think I am going to wear any jewelry, besides small stud earrings. I might find a fancy hair piece though...

Hair:

I am debating between these three:
hair1.png

I love this one. It looks so fun and playful, and totally different from the normal bridal due.

hair3.png

I love this one as well. I really love the "boho" look. When I go to the bar, I usually break out my waver...so this is so me. And I totally want to rock a red flower like her.

hair4.png

I like the flowy-ness of this one

Ceremony decor and flowers

For ceremony decor, we are planning on having aqua chair sashes, and red and pink aisle petals. That's probably all we will do for decor, since I like SBP the way it is.

For my flowers, I'm going to have a big ball of pink carnations (I want it to look like a giant stick of cotton candy :rotfl:), so like this (but different colour)

myflowe.png

The stems will be wrapped in red ribbon (I mean cherry) with one stripe of aqua wrapped around the middle.

My bridesmaids will all be a modification of this:

bischoff_017.jpg

My MOH will have the same as the one above without the pink spot at the top. My two BM's will have it reversed, with pink carnations on top, red in the middle, and an aqua ribbon. This way, the ribbon on each of their bouquets matches their dress, and the red in the middle will match the sash on their dresses.

All the guys will have aqua ties. DF will have a red carnation boutonniere with blue ribbon, and his bm's will have a pink carnation with blue ribbon.

Reception Plans

For the reception, we were originally going to do a custom menu, and ask for Kona food. But than DF and I were thinking about it, and that meant it probably wouldn't make sense for us to eat there during our trip, and we really want to! (that was the night we saw a wedding in WDW and decided we would get married there, so it was a special night!). So I think we are going to go with one of the existing options, the Neptune or Tinkerbell, with some slight modifications. We are going to have our cake for dessert. Our cake will be something along these lines.

We want to use Heidi's mad hatter tea party cake as a model:
ourcake.png

We will ask for one like this, but with more of a carnival theme (but NO clowns:rotfl:)

But with a top more along the lines of this one:
carncake.png

We are also going to see if we can add some cotton candy for dessert as well. I like this idea of having it in a waffle cone:
cott.png

For decorations, if we get the Attic, I don't want much, since it is already so pretty. We were thinking of getting some balloons (not many) put up in some of the corners, since balloons pretty much scream carnival.
ball.png

And instead of centerpieces, we will see if we can put a few decorations on the buffet table and/or any other table of importance, like this:
kids-table-1.jpg

For the dessert party, we will probably be given Morocco, although we may inquire about the new African Outpost location. We want to do a mix of hor derves/ dessert food, so we will try and stick to the carnival theme, by having food like soft pretzels, cotton candy, ice cream, mini pizzas, etc...whatever will work!

Yay! It's so nice to see another Canadian bride, and one that is so close too! We're practically neighbours!

Sounds like we have a lot of the same vendors and such too! We're both Sea Breeze Point Brides and we both have Randy and Ron!

I love your colours! They are so bright and vibrant! We're using Bright Pink and Aqua. I would have never thought of putting Cherry Red with Aqua, but it looks fantastic!

I love your dress as well. It's so unique!

Congrats on getting your date!

wow!:woohoo: congrats on getting it all put down on paper!! (hoping for the day i get to do the same) i am really loving you carnival theme! it will go perfect with the location and reception. i wouldnt change a thing! :goodvibes

but as for hair i like picture #1! its fun, flirt, but dressy, and kinda goes with the feel of the wedding.

Honestly once you put everything together like that it looks amazing! I am sooo jelouse! your wedding is going to be so much fun!!! Can I come?!

I love the cotton candy cones and any of those hair styles will look great! Good job hun!
