Has anyone else fell for the worst trick in history???? IE>>> Thinking that it would be great fun to rent one of these and take your kids around the Boardwalk Beach Club area for two laps. Now I hate to cost anyone business but DO NOT DO THIS. I am hoping that others who have made this fatal mistake will join with me in voicing your memories loudly. Me and DW pedaled while DS3 and DD 11 sat in the front basket and rang the bell at passerby's. I knew after the first hill that we were in trouble and by the end of lap two I felt like I had rode a stationary bike for about six hours. There are two hills to go up which makes four hills total for the time rented and by the last one me and dw were pushing the cart over the hill. Now when we walk from Boardwalk to Epcot and see families out on this bonding moment we simply giggle (we know there pain and that they'll be joining the ranks of the never agains when they are through.). Anyone else done this ... then you know what I mean> If you haven't...trust me don't

We decided after 38 visits since 1977 to give these 4 people bikes a shot. We were staying at WL, me and wife, late 50's and daughter and SIL late 20's, a new experience on these bikes. Let it be know, these bikes that hold 4 people are heavy and require alot of horsepower, or should I say, people power. We took it to the trail that leads to FW, we made it there, great effort required it doesn't coast worth a darn, and made it back to where we rented it. CM who rented it said we had only been gone 20 minutes and we said, that was enough, he didn't even charge us for the rental since we've been gone only 20 minutes. Its a tough ride, everyone must pedal, no where to put non pedalers feet, I have a bad knee and the other three said just ride along, but where to put feet, can't hold them in the air, kept pedalling and thank God we ended that madness. It was an experience, once was enough. I'll stick to the pontoon boat rental from now on, ain't as young as I would like to be or admit too, but we do have limitations.

OMG! This post cracks me up. :rotfl: :rotfl: I am right there with you....I did it when I was 7 months pregnant and my DH and I struggled to get up those hills with our two kids nonpeddlers sitting in the basket giggling and laughing and ringing that bell obnoxiously!! I had noodle legs when I got off. It is so tough, especially after a LONG day on your feet walking around parks. :rotfl2:

Unfortunately, this has become one of my kids FAVORITE things to do at WDW! :sad2: (I try and make any excuse I can not to do it, though ;) )At least we now have a DS16 and DD10 that CAN pedal while DD6 rings the bell. :goodvibes

My wife, daughter, her friend, and I have rented these bikes twice now down at Disney, and they are one of our favorite things to do there! We rented them the first time we were down there on a Saturday night, and had a great time terrorizing everyone on the Boardwalk. My daughter and her friend were 8 at the time and had to sit in the basket, but they would ring the bell to alert everyone we were coming! We made it around the lake 4 times in the time we had the bike! We laughed so hard that we were crying!

I wouldn't be afraid to ride these again if you ride or walk at home. They weren't terribly hard to use!

We thought we would not make it back to the bike station!!!! ha ha ha!!! Nice relaxing bike ride for 2.....no way!!! ha ha ha!!!! Glad to see we were not the only ones!!!! ha ha ha!

Those HILLS!!! AARGG!! I couldn't believe how hard it was. My DH & I got off and pushed the bike up the hills. It was fun though on the flat parts and going DOWN the hill. My DD6 & DD8 couldn't pedal because they weren't tall enough. My DD6 wanted to do it a few weeks ago and I told her until she is tall enough to pedal we won't be doing it til then.

We haven't rented these bikes but have seen them every trip since we spend alot of time at the Boardwalk. For the most part, every family seems to be having such a great time. But we do notice that the hill from the Boardwalk to the bridge over to Epcot seems to be a killer. The other one is the bridge over by the Swan. But the magical part is when the families are going on the down sides. Pure merriment. The only advice from a pedestrian I can give is to make sure whoever is driving has a good control on the wheel. We can't really jump out of the way when you come towards us.

Well, I guess I'll take this opportunity to vent. I would never even consider renting one of those, but we do spend a lot of time in the Epcot resort area. It absolutely infuriates me when people come down hill completely out of control in those things. They're all yelling LOOK OUT! They've about run over my kids on multiple occasions. I have to say, nothing at Disney has made me that upset. Not only do I wish they would get rid of them, but they never should have introduced them in the first place.
