I was checking out the menu of Boardwalk Bakery as an alternative to DHS counter service. Is it worth leaving the park to grab dinner there? How is the lobster roll?

The lobster roll is the bomb! I make sure to have it twice on our 10 day trips. We stay at the Boardwalk so I can't really say if it is worth it to everyone to leave the park to go there for lunch. Enjoy:)

My opinion is it is better than the CS in the park. The drawback is that there is not a lot of seating, and none of it is inside. We usually stay at BW as well, so getting it to bring back to the room solves the problem for us.

Lobster roll to me is well worth it, but some who are used to “traditional” New England area rolls have debated that fact. It is has some nice chunks of lobster that have always been fresh in my experience.

I have not commented in the past but we did not like the lobster roll at all. It depends on your expectation. This is not close to a good Maine lobster roll.

I really like Boardwalk Bakery...but I agree it depends on whether or not eating outside will be an issue. I've never had a hard time snagging a table..but it can get pretty hot. You get a ton of food and I feel like it's an EXCELLENT use of a CS. You get a drink, giant sandwich, chips and a full sized dessert from their bakery case.

I think Starring Rolls is pretty decent too if you don't want to leave the park.

I agree the food is excellent! I liked the lobster roll. If I was traveling during a busier time of year _I_ would not take the time to leave the park to eat there, nor would I during the heat of summer as others have said there is very little seating around and it is all outdoors.

I enjoyed it. The roll is toasted and buttery, there's plenty of crab meat and not too much filler and mayo.

People will have different opinions. If you're from New England you probably won't like it. The same way I won't like pizza from Disney, being from New York.

Would I leave DHS and just go to Boardwalk... maybe. DHS really doesn't have any good spots for QS. If you have the time, then yeah - go to Boardwalk Bakery. It's worth it for the desserts alone!

I had that lobster roll in December and it did not have any flavor and the bread was terrible. Both my MIL and I tried and were super disappointed. However their soup and salad was fantastic. Now the lobster roll at the food and wine festival is the bomb!!
