Agreed. I've seen it a thousand times on these boards. A restaurant changes their menu, (potatoes from Ohana, the steaks from Le Cellier and Jiko changed, etc,) everyone swears off ever eating at that restaurant again, the DDP is blamed, etc, until the next restaurant makes a menu change and then it starts all over again.I don't see it as losing a "perk". I see it as a menu change. I think a lobster roll is still available at the Captain's Grill and there is one at Columbia Harbor House in the MK. Not everyone loves lobster rolls
It's been 1-2 years since our last visit to The World. Maybe discussed previously in a blog but do not see the lobster roll sandwich on the listed menu. Gone? If so, hate to see another great perk vanish from the dining plan!

I agree that it is a perk that vanished from the Dining Plan. There certainly seems to be a trend of getting rid of the more expensive items at QS restaurants- like the lobster mac and cheese at CHH. I noticed on our last trip that man of the $14 and up items at QS dining locations are going away. There definitely appears to be a push to get people to buy the dining plan, while also eliminating some of the better items from menus so that the value of the plan is diminished.
That's not true across the board. Flame Tree recently introduced both a full rack of ribs and a 3-meat platter (pulled pork, ribs, chicken) for $19.99 each. It might have something to do with the rivers of light packages but it is still just a QS without that.
I don't think they are excluded and the RoL packages will be more than that. it is expensive but the portions are huge - a full rack of st. louis ribs or half rack, pulled pork and a quarter chicken. These meals are definitely splittable.Do you know if those are available on the dining plan, or are there dining plan exclusions? I thought I read that the ROL dining package would be excluded from the QS dining plan credits, but not sure about individual platters like this.
$19.99 sounds like quite a price for a QS meal. Wonder if many would purchase it if not on the dining plan.
We get this every year for one of our lunches. I could have sworn it hasn't been listed on the menu online but they still served it. This past October they definitely had it.It's been 1-2 years since our last visit to The World. Maybe discussed previously in a blog but do not see the lobster roll sandwich on the listed menu. Gone? Really? huh. wonder if anyone traveling more recently would know lol. It was on my plans for december! The lobster roll was at Boardwalk Bakery the beginning of February. It was so good I had it twice.
