Well we slept in late after a long night at MVMCP. We were switching to AKL concierge this am. This was a penny wise pound foolish use of points. I paid 46 points per night for the first two nights on this level at AKl and then cash on AP rate for my last two. this was the first time> I fealt my points obviously would have better served me at DVC. however this was a multi family trip all were staying at AKL on my recommendation. So I really wanted to be at the same locale as everyone and combined with expiring points it made for a room change. I was very sad to leave the Boardwalk and the boys big tubby. But, I digress... off we went. Db was still there at this point. check in was just ok. they did not know I was concierge when I came in and had to be asked to bring me upstairs to the lounge. The bellman was very sweet. he kept looking from brother to I with a puzzled expression. And Finally he said. I recognize you, weren't you just here? I laughed my DB did not he fealt it further cemented his opinion that I am disney obsessed! Up to the lounge were jack checked us in. i found him to be rather unmagical. first of all my credit card was rejected and noone could seem to tell me why. After that he was even gruffer. I am in the middle of a divorce so for a second i thought maybe hubby shut them off. Turns out the credit card company froze the account. since they saw alot of out of state charges. I then aksed if I could check in my brothers, mom's room in the lounge. At which point he pointed to my DB and said. very nastily. Is that him? AHHH yes... well he is NOT allowed up here! So I just as nastily said. Well ok but he is here to help me with those wild kids over there. So if he goes, they will be unsupervised while you continue to talk to me. I found jack to be a *******..... Anyway. Everyone else in the lounge was So kind and so friendly, went out of thier way for me. So he was not indicative of the experience at all. So after check in. We were off to the room. to unpack, unwind etc... Uncle had 2 more hours or so. So he went to the pool. i stayed upstairs to keep the kids out of his hair and let him relax in the sun. And we watched cartoons. ordered room service a real down time day.we joined him in the pool for his last hour. Than off to the airport he went. Then we went up to nap. We had 8-15 ps's at Chef Mickeys and the rest of our troup was checking in this evening as well. They did all sleep. And we cabbed it to The Contempary.
Heres were it gets complicated. My old boyfriend also newly divorced was joining us. Strictly as friends. however given an appearance of impropriety we were unsure how to combine the kids. I planned his trip. His kids first trip to Disney. they are 6 year old twin girls. we all were at Chef Mickeys together, Seperate tables. We have not seen each other in 10 years. So it was hard to just smile and not talk in front of the kids but we did.. My mom and DD16. Also joined us straight from the plane. Boy was my my mom surprised when she bumped into him in the buffett line.;) Anyway we had a great time. I loved being able to be there to see his girls expression as they saw the characters for the first time!
we all retired to the lodge and went to bed. The next day we were going to Magic Kingdom. Seperately!

I have enjoyed reading your posts. I have a DD who will almost be 3 for our trip and I've been looking for toddler reports. Sounds like your boys had a blast!

Re: your ex. I think it is very interesting. I have just started talking to my ex from 10 yrs ago again. (neither of us are married) It is SO weird isn't it. When we first saw eachother again, I was visiting home and DD and I were staying with a friend. DD styaed there while I went out to eat with him on my own. And we enjoyed one of the best nights I'd had in yrs. It was fun to just be a grown up and not a mom for a night. LOL

ANYWAY! I can't wait to read more.

Yes, it was very weird! but, somthing to be said for hanging out with someone, You are very comfortable with it makes for a very easy time. The only part for us was one of his little girls who at 6 thought she was 22!!! We said we met at the pool and thought the kids would enjoy hanging out with each other, This kid was not fooled for a second. In fact she kept asking how we met each other we kept saying at the pool. She kept singing I don't believe you! it was very funny. she continued to question and on the last day asked me, again and I changed the subject. And this little bugger said. I saw you at Chef Mickeys and my daddy smiled at you. so I know you were friends before. There were 150 people at Chef Mickeys and she remembers me!!! This kid was a pistol! Anyway it was alot of fun!

What a weird CM!!!!

Our family just returned from WL over Thanksgiving. My inlaws were staying conceirge , but we were not. We were up there several times and not one CM said anything to us. They knew we weren't staying up there. As we got on the elevator, we would say, "Good night" to Ds' grandparents with the CM's right there.

I hate when you get a rude CM. We encountered that on our October trip. Glad you didn't let it ruin your day.

We checked out AKL last weekend. It is a wonderful resort! I can see why you love it. My DD especially loved the playground area :teeth: We can't wait to try it out in Sept!

Can you write the AKL a short note explaining how rude Jack was? It would hopefully helpothers that will have to come in contact with him. He should not be able to get away with that sort of attitude.
