Boardwalk 1 bedroom sleeping 4-5?

Sorry to hijack but I'm new to researching DVC a little more seriously. Is that the DVC norm to have a set number of towels and get charged if you need more? I'm surprised as a hotel staying person. I haven't been to Disney nearly as many times as others on Disboards by I've been to plenty of hotels and cabins and I've never been charged for needing 2-3 towels per person. Also does anyone know if that is the norm for other point based time share resorts, aside from DVC?

DVC is not a hotel. It's a timeshare. The big difference is that owners pay for everything at a timeshare. A hotel can adjust their rates as they wish.
Other timeshares I have stayed at had the guests/owners bring their towels to a collection area on a specific day (maybe Wednesday for a Sat to Sat stay) to trade them in for clean towels. And if you didn't leave the right number of towels in the room when you left, you were charged for them.

Typically, each DVC villa has one bath towel for each sleeping space, half as many hand towels and as many face cloths as bath towels.

Every timeshare I have been to charges if you want extra towels and most of them have a check out procedure for pool towels or pool towels are also in the room. Some of them allow you to exchange them for new through the week but most of them expect you to wash them in your washer if you want them washed.

Thanks for the info :). Interesting stuff. I've stayed in various cabin rentals in different states and those can vary widely as to how much of your household you have to pack up and carry on your road trip. Looks like that is definitely something to consider when considering timeshares as I would definitely not be planning to pay high rental fees on everyday items as I go.

I would always bring my own toiletries and other consumable items. But There are definitely things I'd rather be confident in and have enough of ahead of time, mainly kitchen items to cook my meals and apparently towels since all us long haired girls will use two at a time. Sounds like there are sheets on the beds and I'd be more likely to under book the space than to overbook it. I'm glad at least that part isn't designed like one of our campouts.

Several years ago I'd heard of a service that deals with a storage tote and delivers it for each vacation. I wonder if that is still afloat. Anyone used a service like that for their DVC stays?

Thanks. We may wait to take DD's friend a different trip now..I hate to invite someone and ask them to sleep on the floor. Would be better for a 5th person at OKW and AKV 1 bedroom. AKV 1 bedroom may be our best option since it has fold out chair and 2nd bathroom...two 12 year old girls with only one bath would be difficult!

VWL, VGF, and PBV Studios have pull-down bunk-size 5th beds. BCV and BWV Studios are being added this year.

OKW, AKV (except value), and BLT 1bdrm have 5th sleeper chair. VGF 1bdrm have 5th pull-down bunk-size beds.

My boys refuse to share a bed now. When we get a one bedroom without a sleeper chair, they make a bed out of the couch cushions and hold it together with a sheet. Then they trade off sleeping on it.

Most of the newer sleeper sofas do not have unattached cushions. The bed folds out with the cushions still attached.

Boardwalk mouse keeping and front desk are so wonderful. Bring a blow up mattress( only a king bed and a queen pull out-which is very comfy) . There is room on each side of the king bed for the twin blow up. I bet mouse keeping would give you sheets. They are always so accommodating when I am there. But just in case bring sheets. I'd probably risk it thou(and not bring sheets) based on my previous experiences.:)) enjoy your stay. The boardwalk is my favorite!
