I wonder if since these boards are so useful and helpful, it sets up unreal expectations for other parks. I am planning a trip to Sesame Place and can't find anything like these boards to get help, tips etc. I was just so surprised. I guess I thought that since they have restaurants, hotels nearby etc. something similar would be out there to help in all the decision making...

We are also trying to get to Seseame Place. If you have any good info you already have aI would love to hear it! I have just started thinking of it so I have not really researched it yet. It is a drive for us so I only want to go if it is worth it! I have heard the Crayola factory is near and that was a fun place.

I'm very close to Sesame Place (about 20 minutes down the road). I really wouldn't be able to tell you very much about the hotels in the area because I'm so close. I did, however, have a season's pass several years go when my youngest was about 4. Where are you coming from?

If you want, you could go to this thread which consists of only Pennsylvania folks. You could probably pose your question there and possibly many people a little closer to SP could answer your questions. Just an idea.

Since this thread isn't about the Disney World theme parks, I've moved it to the Community Board. :)

Thanks for the help. I'm wondering -- Are the character meals worth doing? Is any one better than another? Is it worth it to rent a cabanna? If I don't will I be able to find a shady spot for my friend to relax with her infant? What else should I think about to make it a great day?

Try the new bing . com or go to Trip Advisor,
or just google it.

More generally, online discussions almost always foster unfounded expectations of one sort or another. Typically, the extremes are exaggerated: Either people are driven to expect the greatest of the great to be typical, or they are led to believe the worst of the worst is typical. Sometimes, paradoxically, folks are driven to expect both. :rotfl:

The only other destination I've seen with this kind of info boards (in depth, multiple threads/forumns, lots of great practical advise) is Vegas.:lmao: After all it is the "disney world for adults".

Whenever I've looked at other places they are sorta lame. I want multiple forumns and hundreds of threads and nifty extras like the community and budget boards. Yep the others locales websites/boards are a letdown.

I think Cruise Critic is as detailed, though directed at a bunch of different cruise lines, of course. By the same token, some parts of the DIS are about Disneyland, Adventures by Disney, and the Disney Cruise Line, eh?

I forgot about them, I did like them, my only complaint is that they sometimes had days where there were just a few replies. It sometimes took a couple of days before you could get an answer. But yeah I did use them a lot when I cruised in 08.

* as an aside, while we have the refillable mug debate go on Cruise critic and discuss sharing a soda card,:rotfl:

When I want cruise information I go to cruisecritic.com. There is also a good amount of info on activities at various destinations that apply to non-cruisers.

When I want to talk Disney, its disboards.

Anything else travel related.... I go to tripadvisor.com

Good luck!
