Last week we arrived about 10:30 and breezed through security and check-in. No waiting whatsoever. Then we roamed around the terminal looking at the map, the ship model, characters, etc.
A lot of people lined up at the ship entranceway, and had to stand there for over an hour waiting for the boarding to begin. We chose to roam, sit on the comfortable (really) chairs, etc. When the boarding began we then joined the line - it looked long, but we got to the front in less than 10 minutes, and boarded.
My point - standing in that line for over an hour would have gotten us on board 10 minutes earlier. Didn't seem worth it, that's a long time to be standing still. Once we got on board we headed right up to the buffet on deck 9 (politely ignoring the crew trying to move us into a dining room) where there was zero line, and food was plentiful as was seating. We ate our way until 1:30 when the room was ready!
