We are flying out tomorrow morning on Delta. I just printed off my boarding passes. Are there any other papers I need to bring besides the boarding passes?

Thanks!
Jen

Just some form of government photo ID, such as a drivers licence or passport.
Children do not need photo ID.
If you're using ME don't forget that paper work, or your rental car reservation if renting a car.

Have a good trip.

Yep, got our photo id's and ME info! Thanks so much for your help. I have not flown since I was a kid, so this is all new territory for me! :)

Have you reviewed the TSA website to ensure you have properly packed your liquids?

Also, stayed within the size requirements of carry-ons and checked baggage for your airline?

Thanks MissyTara. I actually just got done measuring and weighing my bags. All our liquids are in 3oz or smaller bottles and in quart size ziploc bags. As far as I know I did everything right. We shall see tomorrow morning! It was so much easier when my parents did all the packing and took care of this stuff for me!!! lol Of course things are alot different with the airlines these days though anyway, as far as what you can and can't pack.

My dad remembers back when he was flying down to Cape Canaveral - smoking on the plane.......lots of things have changed.

As you are checked in you don't need to go to the Airline check-in desk you can head straight to the departure gate unless you are checking bags. As you have not flown for quite some time I thought the following might be useful to be prepared for the security screening before getting to the gate. :thumbsup2

- Everyone will need to take their shoes off for screening. Shoes can go directly on the belt for the screening machine without being in a plastic tub. (You will walk through the x-ray in socks or bare feet if you don't have any socks on - just thought I would warn you).

- Any jacket, sweatshirt, cardigan or sweater and/or belt will need to be removed and placed in a plastic tub to go through the screening machine. So make sure that there is something on underneath your outerwear that you want people seeing - I have learned from experience:rolleyes1

-Remove the 1 quart bags from your carryons and put them in the plastic tub for screening so make sure they are easily accessible

- If you are taking a laptop that will have to come out of your carryon and be placed in the plastic tub to go through the screening machine on it's own

Some people will be pulled to a special area for a more detailed screening, it is usually random or may happen if there is stoller etc or the x-ray machine goes off. It's nothing to worry about and the TSA representative will use a wand to search for metal while you hold your arms out. There may be some patting down if they find metal. Just follow their instructions.

Once though the other side collect all your belongings rather than trying to re-pack or dress yourselves at the screening machine. Usually there are some seats or tables a little futher along that you can use to re-pack and put your shoes etc back on. That way the screening machine doesn't get backed up.

If there is anything that the TSA cannot identify or is suspicious looking they will take the bag off the screening machine belt and ask for the owner of the bag to accompany them to a bag screening area. In this area the TSA representative will hand search the bag. Don't try to touch your bag while they do this.

Think that is it! Have a great trip :cheer2:

Brit Jude that was very helpful. I am getting really excited! This will be the first time that my 2 dd's (8 and 5) have been to Disney!!! I am just waiting for them to get home from school and then we are headed out to stay overnight in a hotel for our early morning flight tomorrow!!!

Thanks again everyone!

If you are checking luggage, make sure you have paid for it before getting to the airport since you will save a few dollars and some time. With Delta if you have paid for checked luggage ahead of time you just need to go to the kiosk and enter the requires information and the agent will weigh your luggage and put the baggage claim ticket on it and then you take it to the appropriate drop area and head to security.
