Boarding in Vancouver

On nearly all of the Disney I have been on, we have boarded the ship on deck 3 with the big family name announcements. On our last cruise, however, we left from Copenhagen and we boarded in deck one. No announcements.

Can anyone who has taken a cruise leaving from Vancouver tell me about the boarding process?

Also, an unrelated question. Do first time cruisers receive lanyards? My in laws are taking their first cruise and I'm wondering if they will get them.

In Vancouver you also board on deck 3 and they do make the family name announcements.

First time cruisers do not receive lanyards.

Vancouver is a lovely city and we enjoyed boarding there for our Alaskan cruise. We spent 4 night in Vancouver before our cruise and I would go back again in a heartbeat as a stand alone vacation.

Deck 3 has a beautiful atrium for the announcements.... Deck 1 is like coming in the back door. It's hard to make announcements in that small corridor.

Embrace the moment.... they don't make announcements in Alaska.... only when you are in Canada.
