I must be doing all the wrong searches. I can’t find the list of greetings by castaway level for when you get on the ship past the announcements. I remember something like platinum being “welcome home” maybe another was “welcome back”.
Can anyone help me find that information?

I believe everyone gets greeted the same way:
"The Disney (insert ship name) Welcomes the (insert last name) Family"

For example, "The Disney Magic Welcomes the Smith Family."

On our cruise a couple weeks ago (just my wife and I) they asked if we wanted to be introduced by our first names or as the "Smith" family

I’m quite sure that they once had or still have a difference. And that a platinum member is told “Welcome home”. And a newcomer is “Welcome to Disney/Magic/???
Anyone remember this?

I'm curious about this. I don't think I've ever heard any different welcome aboard greetings.

I wonder if it has something to do with the color of your lanyard? I know usually when we are at the embarkation buffet we often are told "welcome back", but I think that's only because they can see we are previous cruisers.

Yes it was the comment that they made because of the lanyard color. Only platinum got “Welcome home”

Maybe when you wore a lanyard and they saw you were coming back. Do we even know if we still get one?

Anyone know an former CM? About 10 years back? I’m sure this was a thing. There was a thread on this I’m sure.
Now just to be clear, not how they announced you, but when you get on the ship, the next CM’s addressed you afterwards.

You still get a lanyard but they are in your stateroom. You don't have them when you board. I remember them saying "The Disney Fantasy welcomes the XXXX family" on my cruises the past few years.

That is the greeting you'll receive at all Resorts if the CM knows you've been to any Disney Property before, DVC or not.
It's very specifically the DVC greeting. You'll very often hear something like, "To all of our guests, welcome. And to our DVC members, welcome home." They say it on the cruises, too. "Welcome to our new cruisers, welcome back to our Castaway Club members, and to our DVC members, welcome home." Stuff like that.

I've never been greeted with "welcome home", even when a cast member recognized me from a previous visit.

All I can say is I have and many people when making reservations say they can't wait to hear it.. And I did misspeak..it's all guests returning or 1st time guests. As I said I've been hearing it since 1969.. Do a web search. .....It's DISNEY policy.

Welcome home! These two words can be heard and read all across the Walt Disney World Resort, where I worked for 5 months on the Disney College Program. Welcome Home can be heard and read all around the property. Welcome home will keep families coming back to Disney in the years to come. Why do Cast Members say welcome home? Walt wanted his guests, not customers, to be welcomed to Disneyland as if he was welcoming him into his own home. The change in wording is what makes all the difference!

Now that we get the lanyard in the room I guess they won’t way it any longer.

First Disney cruise was November 1998, have cruised 1-2 times a year ever since, been on all 5 ships, and have never received different embarkation greetings based on CC level. Also never been told, "Welcome Home" during embarkation, only sometimes "Welcome Back" from crew who have recognized us after boarding and sometimes at the DVC desk.

We've always been greeted with "The Disney Wonder Welcomes the Hartwig Family" when embarking on the ship and Welcome Back from the CMs.
We are DVC and receive the Welcome Home greeting because we own a part of the villas we're staying at. Never received "welcome home" on the ship because we didn't own it. That is the difference.

But as I posted above, it applies to everybody at the Resorts and parks not just DVC. There was even some controversy after COVID reopening because the video had the CM's saying Welcome Home with their masks on in the parks.
