Can you wear board shorts that have zippered pocket on the back side and still ride the slides or does it have to be no metal at all on the back side of the shorts?
You will find varied compliance to enforcement of this rule. However, I think its not worth the risk of being turned away at the top of a ride. I just shop specifically for water park friendly suits.
Swim attire must be appropriate for a family environment. Inappropriate swim attire, swim attire with buckles, rivets, zippers or exposed metal, and other sharp objects are not allowed on any of the attractions.
Jeans (denim) and wetsuits (neoprene) are not permitted on the following attractions at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park: Bay Slides, Humunga Kowabunga, Ketchakiddee Creek and Storm Slides.
As mentioned, this may be variabley enforced, but i wouldn't risk wearing a suit with metal and missing rides I wanted to do.
