seems like everyone on this forum has some sort of a title

can someone please explain the breakdown from Pete to earning my Ears status

I feel like everyone here appears to be a moderator/administrator

Are some moderators more powerful than others?

You can give your self a title that appears under your photo through your profile page. Earning your ears for example is a title for new members until they reach a certain number of posts.

The disboards have webmasters that create the rules, take disciplinary actions, and keep disboards running.

Moderators are chosen by the webmasters to keep the boards running smoothly. Each moderator has a specific board that they watch. If there is a problem the moderator will give a warning if there is a specific disboards guideline broken.

All moderators have the same "power" however they can only use that "power" on the board they are assigned.

We as moderators and webmasters want to create a great experience for everyone and want things to remain positive.

Wow I counted over 37 people listed as moderators!

Are these positions volunteer or paid ?

Also how does one get to be a moderator ?

From the DIS Boards' posting Guidelines:

9. MODERATORS
The DIS has a wonderful group of Moderators who have volunteered to assist our visitors and monitor the boards. Part of their responsibilities are ensuring that our guidelines are followed which may require that a thread is edited, deleted, closed or moved. If these decisions impact you, we ask that you respect them. Should you have any questions, please direct them to admin@wdwinfo.com. Any discussion about a Moderating decision that takes place on the boards could result in an infraction.

That list is a bit out of date. Still lists JL, and doesn't list rteetz as a mod.
Several moderators are missing. I sent a list of ones that are missing and moderators on there that aren't moderators anymore, hopefully it's fixed.

I have an honest question that I am wondering about cuz I dont want to get in hot water again.... The mods and admins always say use the ignore feature instead of arguing...just wondering if its legal to block a mod or admin.

I would say it would depend on how the ignore feature works. If person A blocks person B can person B still see person A? The mods need to be able to see everyone's posts so if they can still see your posts I don't see an issue with it. If they would not be able to see your post I would think someone would figure a way for us to not have the option to block a mod.

Thats a very good answer thanks!

I blocked my wife, but she can still see what I post, so blocking a mod would still let them see all your dirty secrets.

I also learned that even if I block someone they can send private messages that I can see, so the mods could send a warning or issue points and I would get that message.

The only flaw in the system is if you get banned. You wont be able to see any messages so you wont know why or even if you really are banned. Don't hold me accountable for all this as fact, I just spent three minutes trying and these were my results. Results may vary based on patients OS. In some patients side affects have been reported, side affects are minor and may include dry mouth, watery eyes, bladder discomfort, and narcolepsy. side affects reported in less than 0.5% of tested subjects. If you experience any side affects, discontinue use and inform your server. Do not use OS if you are allergic to your OS or if you have difficulty re

Okay, but what does the green triangle in the upper left hand corner of an avatar mean?
