My dd is soon to be 16. She and her boyfriend like to play board games together and I was wondering if there is anything new out there or super fun?
I'd like to get her some new games for Christmas. Thanks!

my teenage dd loves to play apples to apples with her friends also Cranium is fun!

I will second Apples to Apples. DD 16 just told me today she wants it for Christmas, her soccer team brings one along for tournaments and she said it is so much fun.

Also I would suggest Blokus (or maybe it's spelled blockus?) for a good strategy game.

I third Apples to Apples. My dd20 and her friends play this all the time at school. Her friend brought it on vacation with us to the beach this year and we had 12 people playing that ranged in age from 15 to mid 40s. We had a blast!

Imaginiff.
Life.
Monopoly.
Scene it.
Cranium.

Ticket to Ride and Elfland are two my kids enjoy(so does my brother[36] and his friends). Quiddler and Killer Bunnies are good card games. Try www.funagain.com for some others.

I 4th Apples to Apples!!!:lmao: Mine also likes the Cranium games.

My DD's age 17 and 14 want a new game called Pictionary Man! I have seen the commercial for it on TV but cannot find it at the stores. It really looks fun. Hopefully, I will be able to find it somewhere before christmas.

Not exactly a board game, but try "Set". My 16 yo loves it (so does my 9 yo.)

How about Yahtzee and the Uno card game? Those are the only ones my DS will (occasionally) play.

My DH and I discovered Sequence when we were dating. We have had a lot of fun with it over the years. There are also some other games by this maker (Sequence dice and at least one other) that are also fun. These are very good games if just two want to play.

Good choices so far! I would add Skip-Bo (card game). Both of my teens love it!!

it's kind of like scrabble without the board and it's easier and faster. We all play it DD11-DH 45. You won't find it at Target I don't think. You'll probably have to try a toy store but it's only $15 here in Nebraska. Great fun!

Blokus!! DH and I love it, and DS6 also plays with us sometimes. Target has it for about $30.

They aren't board games but mine like to play Phase 10 the majority of the time and occasionally Rummikub. Phase 10 can be played a couple different ways depending on how long they want to play. Now if it's blizzard time we might get the Disney Monopoly out. :scared1: It never ends well......

I can't believe all these posts for Apples to Apples....I bought it for DS 2 years ago because of all the rave reviews...and I dunno, we must be doing something wrong. We thought it was incredibly boring.
