just wondering if anyone is doing this yet, or plan to with Bank of America. Sounds like a pretty good deal if they match your contribution up to 3 months. :teacher: Keep thinking there is a catch. Sure would be nice way to save up for my DVC annual dues each year! I always use the debit card....

I didn't understand it at first either.....the catch (in my mind) is that, if you charge $15.50, you are charged $16.00. For some reason, I thought they put in the .50. After the 3 months, they match at 3% (pretty good rate). There is a limit to the amount you can get from them in a year (I forget what it is). Their matching money is also taxed, so you'll have to file it as income.

But, as long as you have a debit card, checking account and savings account, you're all set up for it and there are no additional fees. If you don't have a savings account already, you'll have to open one with them.

I've been doing it for a few weeks and it's pretty nice to see that money going in there every week. :goodvibes

I'm doing it! Been enrolled (and DH has too) since mid-Oct. Seems like a win-win situation to me.

They will match 100% the first 3 months up to $250 and then 5% a year (up to $250) after that. I believe they deposit it once a year.

You must stay in good standing.

We signed up too. they do the matching once a year. also the fine print says that they don't match if you have an affinity/mileage debit card. (we do) but no biggie. its just another way to save

I really wish my bank would do this! I'd sign up in a heartbeat, even if they didn't match! What a great idea.

DH & I have "saved" $40 in a month using keep the change.

I have this an I love it. I pay some of my bills with my debit card and I always make the amount for $XX.01. That way I know that I will have at least .99 cents coming back to me for all my bills. And with christmas coming I know I can save alot that way.

I wish my bank would do this! I love this idea! A good friend of mine just told me about this last week. He does what someone here mentioned making everything he can an $.01 transaction. Even without the matching, it's a great way to save a little extra. Maybe all the banks will get onboard with this as time goes on.

I've been with my bank a very long time and absolutely everything is on automatic payments and such so it'd be a real hassle to switch. If it weren't for that, I'd switch right away.

I just opened an account
with BOA and today i am opening the savings account and doing the keep the change
sounds like a good idea

There's nothing I could say about BoA on this board without it getting deleted so check this site out:

BoA

If that seems a bit harsh, try this Google search.

BoA Class Action Suits

I wouldn't trust BoA with a wooden nickel!

Oh well, you do what you need to do, I'm fine with BOA, although I didn't choose them...they bought Fleet Bank, who bought Bank Boston, who bought Bank of NE...so I just went along for the ride and so far, I have no complaints.

To each their own.

I really glad for you. Unfortunatly there are 10's of thousands of people who can't say the same. I hope what's happened to us never happens to you or anyone else. Somehow I don't think that will be the case. They will continue to steal from the public. And why is that? Because they can. There's no one who can stop them and those class action suits confirm they will just go on and on.

We also had a bad experience with BOA, and though the keep the change program sound great, I wouldn't trust BOA with my money either. We use a credit union now.
