After reading a couple of threads recently I have decided I really want to try Bluezoo for the 1st time in December. I am wonder what your favorite menu items are at the Bluezoo . I am also wondering if anyone has had the 2 lb cantonese lobster in sticky soy glaze(yummy).Do you think the restaurant is worth the money?
Thanks!!!!!:)

Here is what we had
Blue zoo-Vietnamese Crab Salad - "street vendor style" melon and mango, aromatic herbs, coconut, green curry $14.00
Zaatar Spice Roast Carrots, honey butter $5.00

Two-pound Maine "Cantonese" Lobster, fried and tossed in sticky soy glaze $48.00

For dessert we had a "citrus themed sampler"

This was a great experience, but the food was just as great at Citrico's and a little cheaper.

Thanks for great responses and awesome picture. I do plan on eating at Citricos also but I really love lobster. Kaybird was the lobster good prepared in the glaze?
Thanks again!!!!!:)

The Lobster was excellant, 2# is a LOT but other than sharing a couple of pieces with DH I ate it all. Would probably say that for lobster, I like it just plain with butter ordinarily, but we had heard a lot about this, and got it for the experience! Again, HUGE ammount of food, the bread assortment was terrific, probably my fav 2nd to the lobster, the zataar carrots were also very tasty (we have an herb farm and graw zataar, so had to try them:)

I have never heard of the Blue Zoo could omeone tell me were it is and what type of food they have::confused:

Loved the lobster last during last year's visit, but it is a lot for one person.

Thanks again for the responses. Did you have the cantonese lobster in the glaze? If you had the glazed lobster was it a sweeter sauce or more soy sauce tasting?
Thanks again!!:)

Yes, I had the cantonese lobster.

The sauce was slightly sweet, not really soy based. Sort of a very mild version of a sweet and sour sauce.

The lobster was prepared and presented perfectly, serve with a sticky rice.

Other memories from our visit -

Service was very well balanced and friendly, atmosphere was warm and bright (in decor).

Apps, salad and dessert were spot on, and the bread basket was to die for.

DW had a house special cocktail, a Blueberry Martini that she still raves about!

Counting the days until our next visit!

One other thing that I might note, they do stick to the dress code, no tshirts, this is the only place I have ever seen someone turned away.

kaybird, I'm glad that you mentioned the dress code. We usually eat at Signature restaurants for dinner and love dressing a bit for our meal. But is there anything elses besides no t-shirts for bluezoo's dress code?

I. too am a huge fan of the signature Blueberry Martini at the BlueZoo! A priority for our trip in October! The food isn't too shabby, either!

Since they aren't a Disney restaurant, I'm not really sure what the dress code is. I suspect it parallels Disney's "business casual".
I can tell you that at our last meal at Blue Zoo,there were several men in T-shirts eating.

We ate there on our first night of our recent trip. Food was good, but way over-priced (in our opinion). $2.00 EACH for an oyster!

If anyone is interested you can make reservations online for bluezoo. Just go to this link and click reservations:

http://www.swandolphin.com/bluezoo/index.htm

They confirm your reservation and time through email. Wish they would do something like this for WDW. But I guess the volume and problem with not having the time you request open would be just too over whelming.

Dined solo there last time.Tuna and Caffeine overload. Enjoyed the Yellowfin Tuna appetizer and the Seared Tuna for dinner along with about a pot of coffee for dessert.pirate:

Uncleromulus enjoyed the review. Ever try any of their other specialty brews?

Thank you so much for the great responses. I am afraid I am developing really expensive taste. I do really love lobster. Has anyone had the steak and lobster at BlueZoo? I am eating at alot of signature restaurants my next trip that will be covered by DDP,so I will pay OOP for this restaurant as a special treat.(Did I say I love lobster).
Thanks again for the great responses.!!!!!!!!!:)
