Had an interesting point brought up in a conversation yesterday and it made me wonder... Have you requested a (blue) card for each owner on the direct purchase contract? I am the only one listed on the card, but my wife is a co-owner. Does that matter if we go different directions with the kids on a given day at the parks? Does her name have to appear on the card to get discounts? If so, how do I get a card with my wife's name on it? Thanks!!

If she doesn't have a hard copy, she can access one by signing in to DVC Member account. If she doesn't yet have an account, she'll need to set one up and can then order a card for herself. But just know that if you ever do find yourself without your member card, there is an electronic version online. You can screenshot it and use that in lieu of the hard copy.

Thanks. She does not have a Disney account set up. Do you know if she will need to get a separate activation code?

She might. Try playing around with the website to see what info would be needed to activate an account and if an activation code is needed, just give member services a call!

She needs her own code to set up that will direct her to your same account web page.

Whoever is on the deed gets a card.

I'm still only an associate. I don't have a card and get no perks.

An interesting story. When we bought years ago the lawyer incorrectly set it up as my name only and we didn't catch it or realize it was an issue, until it was too late. I would have had to do another deed and recording so we just left it. We didn't get a blue card for my spouse though we did request one early on. A couple of years later we bought a second contract with my and her name. She got a card for the new contract AND one for the previous contract she was never listed on.

When ever I added on I could not add my daughter unless I put her on all contracts or started a new contract. I now have two contract numbers. To use the new contract points wth the other 4 resorts contracts I would need to transfer points.
Funny how they can easily add someone to all contracts if you add them to a new contract.

With one of my other timeshares you can add someone to a new contract and they essentially become and owners of all contracts but they are also liable for all as well.

I just ordered a new one the other day and I could only order one for my husband even though both our names are on the deed. I thought I could repeat the same process as I did to order his card to get mine, and it bumped me back to his order confirmation page. I guess I will call them when I have a chance this week. Does anyone know if they still print them at the DVC center at SSR?
