Hello. I was wondering if any one could give me their opinion of this show.I am going to WDW for the first time this Dec. with my DH and 2 DD's aged 6 and 8. We will stay 5 nights at the GF and then 13 nights at a villa in Indina Creek. I have most of my planning for WDW , as well as 2 days at SW ( one where we are doing the Dolphin close up tour).

I had originally thought of seeing Cirque du Soleil but my DH says that it's too much already...and know to make matters worse I found about the Blue Man group:confused3 . I saw the videos on youtube but I just wanted to hear about any off hand experiences on what it was like.

Thanks....

We are definately going to try to get tickets at the end of our holiday if we have the money, I think they are great it's just a case of having enough money to do all you want.

Blue man group is an amazing show, we laughed so much, very funny.

Only thing that would concern me is fitting it in for a 1st visit. Even after spending over 52 weeks in Orlando we struggle to goto evening shows. We never find the time for them.

Cirque I didn't like at all but most think its great, saw another in Vegas didn't enjoy that either. Blue Man Group is more my kind of show.

I have seen the BMG in Las Vegas & in London....we are also seeing them in December at Universal. We love it they are hilarious!

I also loved La Nouba and will be seeing that again next year as I can't fit anymore into my December trip. :lmao:

Thank you all for your replies !!! :goodvibes

I was thinking of assisting a 3pm show on Dec30th..( our 10 tkts to WDW will have expired by then ) any special reccomendations for which seats ? I would pressume that the center is the best, but is it still okay to be far up ? I pretended to by 4 seats and I was given Row s in the 4th section, something like 37 to 40.

Thanks....again..I think now I have to budget another $250...but like I said you are 40 only once...and my DD's will be 6 and 8 only once too !!:)

Just a word of caution. I took my mum to see the Blue Man Group in London a few years ago and she hated it. If the show at universal is anything like the one in London, the blue men come out into the audience and they tended to stare at people. They also squirted mashed banana around the stage and at each other - the problem with mashed banana is that it looks quite a lot like vomit! Not great if you have weak stomach! The show was also quite loud. I was just thinking your little ones may not enjoy it all that much.

I went to see the Blue Man Group at Universal with my family a few weeks ago and loved it. There were quite a few children in the audience too who seemed to enjoy it as well. We also managed to get cheaper tickets by having annual passes and student ID as well as booking on the day of the show so there may be other discounts available by doing this, if youre prepared to risk it being sold out. We had seats towards the back but still had a great view and there were quite a few seats free behind us.

Went to see BMG last october with DH and DS age 10 we have never laughed so much a great show and the end of the show is hard to explain but not to be missed ! ;)

They have offer on just now for AP holders $44 each.

: Decisions..Decisions.....Sometimes it's so hard to decide what to do !!

I appreciate all of your comments....even if you did not like the show...but knowing the good and not so good makes me think about it ...

I will still try and budget the money...and keep an open mind...until Dec.

My girls are 6 and a half and 8 and a half..., just being in Orlando is enough for them...they will be happy with the parks, SW and shopping...I'm the one that is debating or not if they will like it or not. If the sound is too high...that will probably something to keep into consideration.

Wayneg..thanks for the photos..they are great !!! :)

Thanks again for your sincere opinions !!!

Looks like a great show for kiddies and adults alike!!
great piccies Wayne!

didn't know about the student discount.. will be taking my card with me then!!

I ordered the free Universal planning DVD and there is a trailer for the blue man group - might be of help to you deciding

Its like a rock concert really.... and i would say more a boys show than a girls show.
My DS (8) thought it was fantastic...and we loved it too.

The mashed banana was absolutely gross though!!! (didnt realise it was mashed banana!)

Good thing DW doesn't read the boards, being a Nursery Officer for 20 years there is no such thing as anything just for boys or girls.:rotfl2:

we're the opposite...
like the cirque in orlando, don't like blue man group...
funny..

but i agree with you on the 2 cirques in vegas...we didn't like either of them....
we only like the cirque de soleil in orlando...

i didnt say girls couldnt go! I just think its more appealing to boys than girls.. in the way that my little pony does nothing for my DS.

I am sure some boys love my little pony and some girls love transformers, but in general they appeal more to the opposite sexes!

Thats the same for the blue man group! :) My son loved it... because it was gross boys stuff! :) Walking around with Captain Crunch stuck all over your head and spraying mashed banana around is possibly more entertaining for young boys than girls - but im sure you will disagree :)

Yes I agree some things are more suited to girls than boys(although DW wouldn't) but personally I don't think BMG is, the banana mush was only a small part of the show, the rest of the show is, music, lighting & humor, totally suitable to all, but I have never had a daughter so what do I know?:goodvibes

All three of us LOVED the Blue Man Group. it was such fun and yes, I think we preferred it to Cirque.
