It's almost time to make the decision. We did the "Discover Atlantis" in February, so going into Atlantis isn't a big deal. We really want to do a day at the beach in Nassau for fear of missing CC again.:earseek: Which would you choose: Atlantis beach or Blue Lagoon?

All comments/advice welcome...:D

Thanks,
Steve

I have never done either of these excursions, but have done my own Atlantis day twice. You can book a room at the comfort suites across the street. This enables you to full access to Atlantis - beaches, slide, the dig, restaurants, shopping.

It works out really great.

We had a great day at Blue lagoon in 2002. It was very peaceful. There are water rentals, a snorkeling area. If you have little ones, there is a nice shallow inlet to hang out in. I haven't been to the Atlantis, so I can not compare.

We did the Blue Lagoon Dolphin thing in the morning and then hung out on the beach there in the afternoon. One ferry goes back around 2pm, and then there is a later one around 4 or so (as I recall). Staying later on Blue Lagoon was very peaceful and relaxing - felt kinda like on your own little island the time we were there as not many people, especially after the first ferry went back. Was able to get pictures of my three/five year olds in the water, looking like we were the only people there. Very relaxing...

I did the Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon a few weeks ago with NCL Dawn and wished we had time to spend at the beach there. It was beautiful! Saw those Calypso boats coming to the island and wished I would sneak on one back to the pier, but we had to be back on the ship by 1:30.

I know when we go next November that is what we will be doing. Just in case we miss Castaway Cay since we are only doing a 3 day cruise. Also we want to do the Dolphin Swim and will be booking that on our own.:sunny:

I don't know the price of the beach day at Blue Lagoon, but we did a day at the Atlantis by booking a room at Comfort Suites across the street. The room was something like $175.00, with taxes, etc. it came to $211.00. The Atlantis is incredible, countless pools, slides, lagoon, beach, etc. We took a taxi over and back.

Are you able to use the facilities at Atlantis by checking into the Comfort Suites? I checked out the website but it didn't say anything about that.

I believe it is $38 for an adult and $23 for a child. (adult is usually 10 yrs.old)

We did Blue Lagoon beach day on June 14th since we've stayed at Atlantis before and it was school field trip day for some Nassau middle school so the place was mobbed with local preteens. They totally encompassed the beach so our choices were to share the beach with them, go to one of the rocky, sandless beaches, or use the beach right next to the ferry dock. Well, with a 3 month old I didn't want to be on the same part of the beach as hundreds of school kids running all over the beach and playing sports in the shallow water, we couldn't really use a rocky beach, so that left the dock area. The beach part of that was great-quiet and close to the lunch pavilion- but you couldn't go in the water there cause it was too close to the dock. We had to eat lunch with the school kids, which really affected the table space and made huge lines at the food stations. Because it was so crowded, almost everyone wanted to leave on the 2pm ferry, but some of the school kids had to come back on that ferry too so that was crowded too. It was a beautiful island, but if I had known that every middle school in Nassau and Paradise Island was going to be there, I would have picked the more expensive Atlantis beach day. The kids were all very nice and groups of them came over to talk to my baby, but it felt like I was at a local waterpark rather than an island in the Bahamas.
