Blue Lagoon Excursion Recently?

Has anyone done with Blue Lagoon half or full day with Disney since COVID? I have a few questions:

1.) how crowded was the blue lagoon island? I see there is one other ship in port with the Dream for our next cruise on 11/1.

2.) is the island well kept and bathrooms and food locations generally clean?

3.) are there any cabana rentals?

4.) does Disney have a separate area of the island or do you go wherever you want?

5.) any cons?

This is the first week any Disney Ships are stopping in Nassau. You will have to wait till later in the week or next, When passengers are back

We have not been since reopening, but I can answer a few of your questions form previous trips

1. We have never found it crowded, there is room to spread out and plenty of loungers. This will be especially true if there are only 2 ships in port.

2. We found everything to be clean

3. No cabanas. but one side of the island is a private area for adults only with more beach umbrellas

4. No private Disney area

5. We think the food is pretty mediocre.

We have not been to Blue Lagoon with littles, but I don’t recall a splash pad area.

We went there in 2016 and it was very crowded. There were no chairs available and we had to spread our towels out on the ground. It just depends on how many ships are in port that day.

We were there in August off Symphony of the Seas. Ferrys were segregated by tour and ship and you sat in the same seat both ways. Once on the island they had certain times for each tour group (from different and same ships) to use water toys and eat. We had the VIP experience, which was a separate beach on the north shore with separated chairs and umbrellas. Food was in buffet servers on the beach. You could go to the restroom by yourself but no other area of island without an escort. Island was very clean, although that is easier with fewer customers. We only had around 8 people in the VIP area. Masks required in all areas but on beach, including path to restroom.

When we went pre-Covid, there were several options for the return ferry. But, the report from August indicated that you had to return on the specific ferry for your group. You might contact Blue Lagoon directly and ask what the current procedure is.

I had a moment of humorous confusion. I read the title and thought you were asking about the Blue Lagoon in Reykjavik, Iceland for the upcoming DCL cruise to Iceland during the summer. Islands and Cabana's, what? Then I figured out there must be a "island" Blue Lagoon. Very different places, but probably both enjoyable!

We were there in November. You had to return with the specific ferry for your cruise ship, and they told you what time on the way over.

Ah, thanks for the intel! Yeah, that makes sense. Then they can "guarantee" or at least account for capacity. I booked the excursion and it says it's a 7:45AM start and only lasting 5.5 hours. I wonder if we'll be on the 12 or 2PM ferry back.

It’s also one of the ways they keep the cruise passengers in their own “bubble”. We were told we could only go to one beach (the Disney beach had really shallow water, if that matters one way or the other to you, the deepest areas were barely waist high on my four year old), and we could only eat in one outdoor pavilion, and only one ferry to and from. For what it’s worth, our excursion start time was 8:30, and our ferry back was like 1:45 or 2:15, something like that. I remember we got back to the cruise dock about 2:30 or 3.

That makes a lot of sense! Was your meeting time at 8:30, or was that when you disembarked the ship?

I haven’t been on a port adventure in a little while, but I do remember sitting for 20-30 minutes in one of the theaters as they tried to get everyone sorted out.

Meeting time was 8:30. I don’t know if they’ve improved their procedures or if it was just because there just weren’t as many people on the cruise and thus going on excursions, but they got everyone sorted out pretty quick, much faster than I remember from pre-Covid. We were in the ferry and on our way before 9:00.
