Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter Question

When I look at a copy of the Shore Excursion information, it states that for the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter excursion there are return ferries at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Do those ferries take you directly from the Blue Lagoon Island to the ship? Or are those ferries from Blue Lagoon Island to Paradise Island? Similarly, in the morning do you take a water taxi to Paradise Island and then a second ferry to Blue Lagoon Island?

I was on this excursion in Jan' 03- the ferry is from Nassau to Blue Lagoon Island. and back. The ferry pier is a short walk from the ship.

When we were there in the spring the ferry did make a stop to let off other passengers at Paradise Island but did continue on to where the ship was docked. Just a short walk from there to the ship. I hope this helps!

There were alot of people that left on the 2:00 pm ferry back to the ship because they wanted to be able to shop at the 'straw district' whatever it is called right off the docks. There is a 2:00 return and a 4:00 return. I believe the shopping district closes up at 5:00 pm.

We stayed back and enjoyed an almost empty beach when everyone left at 2:00 pm. When we got off the last ferrie the straw market was closing up - but we got some good bargains - and we have been there before so it was not something that was a "must do" for us. The drop off is a short scenic walk to the ship.... my kids loved it.

Thanks for your replies, everybody. That seems to make the excursion to Blue Lagoon a little easier. HOWEVER, if we want to combine it with a trip to Atlantis on the way back, it's probably a little harder. I know, I know but I'm not just a theme park commando - I'm a cruise ship commando too!
