When booking the Blue Lagoon dolphin or sea lion experience, do you also book the beach day, or is the beach day included in it? Is it all in the same area? Some of us want the experience but others only want the beach day? Thanks!

You don’t need to book the Beach Day if you are booking something else at Blue Lagoon. We booked the Sea Lion encounter(N40) for the kids and the Sea Lion observer(N22) for the parents as the observer excursion was cheaper than booking the Beach Day excursion. The one big difference is that you only get lunch included with the Beach Day, not the Sea Lion encounter or observer. We did not want the lunch as our excursion was first thing in the morning and we went back to the Dream to have a late lunch. They do have food and drinks available to purchase separately.

Everything is close together, and as observers we were able to watch our kids with the sea lions from a viewing area. We just weren’t able to go onto the dock with them. Photos are available to purchase, and we did buy single pictures of each of our kids, but I can’t recall how much they cost.

Location - not all in the same area. But close.

The ferry dock is in the middle, entering through the channel on the bottom, near the Rusty Scupper.

You can see the animal pens on the right side. And loungers lining the lagoon’s beach.

To the left of the dock should be the water toys, pyramid…

The adult beach is on the left side of this photo. This is from Google Maps.

We were tired after the Dolphin swim and caught the next ferry back. Ate no food there.

Check their website for adult supervision requirements.

We did the beach excursion there last July. If you have the option of different times, I would suguest you book the earliest you can. We booked it around 9:30 and I'm glad we did because it was already crowded by the time we arrived. I saw 2 more excursion groups arrive about an hour after we did. Most of the loungers were already taken, so a lot of people were left laying on towels in the sand.
