Has anyone booked the dolphin swim from blue lagoon website instead of waiting to book when on the cruise though Disney. Looking for pros and cons of booking directly vs though Disney.

Blue Lagoon will not take reservations if you list you are arriving by cruiseliner, as they have a contract with the cruise companies. It would require you to say you are staying on the island somewhere in order for them to allow you to visit blue lagoon.

Based on reports you could easily say you are staying at a local hotel for pick up and not have any issues. What I do not know is if there was an issue, like one of their ferry boats was broken midday or something and they only had so much capacity. I could see that scenario and all cruise guests get on the remaining ferries in order to meet the cruise ship departure times. Then on the subsequent trips, they would have Bahamas guests (of which you said you were one) because if you are staying on the island, you have less issue trying to get back to your hotel, and all you would miss would be a dinner reservation, not the rest of your vacation.

I hope others who have actually been to blue lagoon can chime in for you.

We did it years ago and I had read the same as the previous poster. You could not book independently and had to go with the cruise line. So we booked through DCL and it was great.

You don't have to book through the cruise line. You can book through ShoreTrips.com. I was paying for 11 people and booking that way saved a bunch of money. We did have to get to Paradise Island to catch the boat to Blue Lagoon but it wasn't a hassle and it wasn't expensive.

You can fib and say that you are not arriving on a cruise. But, as Kashasmom stated the transportation from the cruise port is not included. You will have to make your way to the pier at Paradise Island first.

We didn't fib at all. ShoreTrips.com specifically asks what cruise ship you are coming in on. If Blue Lagoon had an issue with that, I'm shore they would stop them from selling the excursion.

Wasn't trying to say that you were. I was reiterating what you said about transportation.

The OP said they were booking on the Blue Lagoon website. On their site, if you indicate that you are arriving on a cruise ship, you will get a message that you cannot book directly with them.

Thank you for all your replies. We will wait and book when we get on the ship

So this is our first cruise with Disney can someone tell me when we will be able to book this though Disney.

75 days before your sailing, your reservation will unlock. This will allow you to go online and fill out your check-in information and get your port arrival time. It will also allow you to book activities - port adventures like this but also some onboard activities.
