I added Coral Reef back onto Tuesday if anyone wants to join me.

I cannot wait to go there. Even if the food is only so-so, I just want to see the cool aquarium.

That is why I am going. I want to see the aquarium! I saw an appetizer I thought would be good, but the other offerings I could take or leave. Perhaps they could do a double order of the app and we'll all be happy!

I am thinking about my ground transportation. My husband and I will be at Universal until 10/30. My husband's flight home that day is not until 7:41 PM. So, I am thinking of having a car service pick us both up, make a grocery stop, take me to Pop, then have my husband go on to the airport. So, If anyone would like me to pick up a few things from Publix and hold them in my room until you arrive, I am happy to do that.

And, yes, I know I could get 2 cars to pick us up from the Hard Rock Hotel and have one take my husband to the airport while the other took me to Pop. However, given that my husband's flight is so late, I figure that we would not leave HRH until at least 6--and I want to get to Pop sooner then that! So, I figure, if he is along for the ride, he can't complain that I am running out on him!

That is good to know. Since it is Stone Crab season I am hoping that when the time comes, the seasonal menu will include Stone Crab.

I would Beth but I am pretty sure I won't be there on Tuesday. I won't have enough holidays to take off 4 days. I think I will be leaving Monday afternoon.

Of course this trip is all tentative at this point. Co-workers at DH's work found out that he had a deal going regarding his pay. The place isn't getting any busier and now DH's contract has been terminated - back to pay per job...

I think that's sort of doubtful. Crab is expensive and CR is only a one credit restaurant.

Um, if they have them I'd prefer bottles with a cap over cans. What do those come in? I can't remember if it's 6 or 8. (At home I usually get the 2 liters) Anyways, either of those would work.

I think we talked about this before but I can't remember what was decided. lol

It says it will open in October and feature Asian food. I'm kind of curious about it. Too bad there's not an actual menu yet.

I just called and the CM I spoke with said they don't have any info on the Yak and Yeti restaurant yet. So who knows when we'll be able to make ADRs.

But I think I'd like to try it. Maybe for an early lunch on Saturday or on Monday.

I am up for YnY. So, it will be a sit down? I guess it will be over by EE? What are they doing with Tusker House? I know it will be open as is for my July trip, but I think be Nov. it will either be shut down, or reopened. I am a bit bummed, I must say, since TH is a fav of mine.

I found this info on Tusker House:

Tusker House, at Animal Kingdom is being converted to a buffet service restaurant to open in early November. It will offer a Character Breakfast called Donald's Safari Breakfast and will offer non-character buffets for lunch and dinner. It will be open from 8am - 10:30am for Breakfast and 11:30 until park closing for lunch and dinner. Both indoor and outdoor seating will be available.

To make the necessary renovations, Tusker house will be closed from August 20 until November 17th. During this time, the Safari Celebration Dinner Grand Gathering will be unavailable. The last Safari Grand Gathering will be on August 19th. It will return on November 25th.

Donald's Breakfastosaurus character breakfast will end after November 5th. Restaurantosaurus wil continue to be open as a quick service restaurant from 10:30am until park closing.

Reservations will not be needed for the outdoor seating since that area will not be part of the Character Breakfast.

Once Tusker House reopens, the Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery will remain open but only from the outdoor window.

At this time the characters at the new breakfast will be Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy (of course that is always subject to change and daily availablity of the stars)

The new restaurant currently under construction in Animal Kingdom's Asia will be named Yak and Yeti. To fit in with Anandapur, the fictional village that is home to Expedition Everest, the restaurant will be themed as a rural village in the Himalayan foothills. The pan-Asian establishment will house both a table service restaurant that seats 300 and a quick-service eatery that can hold 200 customers. The restaurant was announced in February 2006, and is set to open in July 2007.

New info on the boards has Yak & Yeti (eek what a name) opening on October 8. If I can convince my mom to go over to AK we will go the first day it's open. It may work as I want to take her to see Nemo.

It's supposed to have both counter service and full service options. Most likely it will NOT participate in the dining plan but that has not been confirmed. It will be owned and run by Landry's, which owns the Rainforest Cafe.

Thank you for that info on Yak and Yeti, ladies. I agree, Catherine. What a name! Do you think there will be either on the menu!? I enjoy a good buffalo burger as much as the next guy, but I may have to draw the line at yak meat! Unless...it tastes just like chicken!

Yuck!!

There is a place here in town called Sleders that makes a good buffalo burger. I won't eat it, lol, that's just what I've heard.

And we have a grocery store that sells buffalo meat. I can barely eat a regular hamburger let alone a buffalo burger.
