Blue Goose Trip

Beth, I use another website to pick which days at the parks, but that info isn't there yet.

We definately need a where we will be per day in general though.

Is someone going to be in charge of ADRs ? I know everyone has ideas of where they want to eat, but if we plan on a park each day the ADRs should somehow revolve around that.

Bridget, that was a disaster on the last trip. People who said they were doing the ADR's did not do it. It turned into a real mess.

I think that soon we will see some posts about who wants to eat where, and whoever wants that will start to make the ADR's.

If there is somewhere you want to eat, just say I want to eat at "wherever" on "whatever day" anyone else want to, send me a PM. That is what I plan to do!

Beth, are we still planning a night at Jellyrolls on this trip? That is something I definately want to do!:cool1:

Everyone is making their own ADR's.
Some of us did that the last day of the trip last year and it was much easier.

YES!! :cool1: Saturday night I want to eat at Spoodles and then go to Jellyrolls so if anyone wants to join me I will eventually start a sign up for that and we can at least get that going.

I don't mind making some of them. I'm not doing any that require a credit card deposit. That was where the trouble lay last time.

But for just regular ADR's if we all know we want to eat at "_________ restaurant" on "_______ day" then there's no real reason one person can't make them.
Like with the Spoodles on Saturday, kwim?

Beth! Sign me up! That sounds like fun to me!

What we did in January was we all made seperate ressies for groups of 4-6 at the same restaurant.

It's not good to have one ressies say at Spoodles for say 10 people.
If a few people cancel they won't honor the ressie.
Plus getting tables for 4 or 6 are easier to reserve.

Beth, I like the idea of picking a park for the day. That way, we can ride some rides together or not.

Now having said that, I don't care where we go or when. So if anyone has any magic spells they use to determine which parks are better on certain days then feel free to share with the group. ;)

I'd just like to start putting some thought into it. Not a detailed plan down to the minute. No one wants that. But some ideas can start being tossed around don't ya'll think? :confused3

I used Tour Guide Mike for my trip last July and was very happy with his best days advice. I am using him again for my upcoming July trip and if I am as pleased with the results, I will likely follow his advice for our trip in November.

Sign me up for that one too :)

They did sit us close together as long as we were all there at check-in.

It was much easier knowing most everyone made their own ressies
Then you are responsible for yourself.

Last year we waited for some people at Le Cellier because they were included in the ressie that we didn't
even know what they looked like. They sat near us but that was it.

we're all on our own vacation, not a seminar where a few people handle everything.
If Dis or Disney was paying us to make ressies for everyone, that's a different story. :rotfl:
I think everyone should take responsiblity for their own plans.

Now that we are friends and know one another, it's not a meet anymore.
It's like a high school reunion where we get together yearly to see one another. :)

I hear what you are saying, but not everyone is in the same position as you. I have no problem making my own ressies, but not everyone going has a group of previously made friends to "hang with". Some are newbies - and some are more apprehensive than others. I'm not saying this to complain. I don't have a problem with it, but it's important to remember where others are coming from as well.

I follow you. I don't think it's fair to have anyone new or old to expect other people to make their plans for them.

We are adults and are responsible for our own enjoyment.

Maybe a "newbie" could make a reservation so you all would feel comfortable
together.

Remember we've been friends for over a year now.

The best way to handle it is the way its being handled. Someone says I want to go to X. Then someone else says they want to go to X and so on. If you have twenty people that want to go to X and you want to make a big group reservation, then do it. If 14 people want to go on the one reservation and 6 on another then do it that way. You can all ask to be seated near each other, and if it doesn't work out, its not the end of the world.

I plan on going to House of Blues one night. I would make a reservation for six people. Once my table is full, if anyone else wants to go there they are going to need to make their own reservation for it. I don't want to have a reservation for twenty and have only ten people show up. Too much of a hassle to me personally.

That's exactly what I am going to do Kat. For example, I already know for sure I want to do the Spoodles and Jellyroll thing on Saturday night.

I will make an ADR for between 8-10 people and whoever wants to go can let me know and I will add them to that reservation. Once that's full, if there are more who want to go then they will have to start another grouping and we can all try to sit close by.

But my limit will be 10. Beyond that it gets to confusing.

When we get closer to being able to make ADR's, it will all work out. We will start a thread about who wants to eat where and when and start the sign ups.

From what I learned last year, the more time you put into getting to know everyone on the chat thread, the better time you will have.

I'm not worried! :)
