Blue Goose Trip

Anyone interested in going to Capt Jacks at DTD one night? I've never been there, if someone here has maybe they can give us a review . :goodvibes

I don't know anything about it except that you can get lobster tails there on the dining plan, for 1 credit.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to add the dining plan or not!

Same here, Missy!

I just bought tickets for the gospel brunch at HOB for our July vacation. So, that is off the list for November. That was one strike against the dining plan for me in November. The other is that I will be arriving before most and leaving before many, so I may have more difficulty using the TS credits. Not that I have an issue doing a TS solo before others arrive, but I am not sure I want to use the time for that.

I'd have 5 TS. I will be there Tues 10/30-Sun 11/4. It could look like this:

Wed. Coral Reef--solo
Thurs Boma Dinner--group (hopefully)
Fri. CS at Earls with large group
Sat. Spoodles
Sun Boma Breakfast

I'd still need another TS. I don't think I'd do it on Tuesday since I will be at Universal with my husband and we'll probably do lunch before he leaves for the airport. I could consider a signature dining experience like Jiko instead of Boma on Thursday night.

But, that schedule may be pushing it just so I can use all my TS. So, I am still

Christine,

If you get ADRs and want to go to Boma for dinner on Thursday , let me know. I 've been there for breakfast before and enjoyed it but never was there for dinner.

I have never been there Bridget, I will look at their menu and let you know!:thumbsup2

wendy- are you going to offer to make friendship bracelets this year? I still have mine from last year, I wear it as an anklet braclet. I really like it and hope you will make them again. :goodvibes

We looked at the menu and it was very limited so we skipped it. Not interested in eating there at all, sorry!

Will do, Bridget. I have had dinner at Boma twice, most recently on my solo trip in July. I enjoyed dinner both times. We have an ADR to have dinner there for our upcoming July trip.

I won't make a decision on the DP until after I return from our trip in July.

I really don't care what night we go to Boma, as long as I get to go. For some reason Beth I thought you weren't interested in going there, my bad ;)
That's ok. I don't really understand half the stuff on the menu but I have heard so much about it I feel I should give it a try. If it works out. :)

Okay some of you might have seen my posts on the other thread about Universal. I was kind of kidding when I first said it but the more I got to thinking the better it sounded.

I have never been to the Universal in FL, but I love the one in CA. And IOA looks like alot of fun!! They have a deal now where you pay $86 and you get 7 days at both parks. Seems like a good deal to me.

So I guess I am seriously asking would you guys be interested in breaking the trip up this time and spending half at WDW and half at IOA/US??

We could do a Universal hotel to get the front of the line pass. And maybe we could do roomies at that hotel to cut costs. It's only for part of the time.

I think it would be awesome!!

And if Universal there has a Citywalk like the one in CA does, even better. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
Also Blue Man Group is opening up there this summer.

So, think about it and if anyone is interested let me know. I think as a group it would be a ton of fun!! :dance3:

I'd take a day outing to Universal, but not really interested in staying there.
But if majority rules. :thumbsup2

do we rent a bus to bring us all over there fro Disney? :rotfl:

Have you ever stayed there? I haven't but I think you have to in order to get the FOTL pass. And I know that's a plus to have.

It would have to be more than one day too don't you think? I mean at least two so you could do one park one day and the other the next.

I don't have any details. I've never looked into it before, but would you consider it??

The more I think about it the more fun it sounds!! :confused3 And I know there are alot of rides there that those with little ones can't do. Or they have to take turns doing with their spouses so that would be another bonus.

Let's hear some more thoughts and ideas ladies. :)

I stayed at Royal Pacific several years ago and did the US/IOA thing. I almost checked out and went to WDW but did not. It is NOT Disney, and the service does not compare. You probably won't be able to get close to the room rates we got at WDW. I swore I'd never go back, but now it's a few years later, and I would consider going when my kids are older (or when I am alone.) I'm not totally against the idea - but won't fight either way. Just don't go expecting a Disney-like experience, because Disney it ain't!

I would like to join. I will be at the Beach Club Villas Oct. 30-Nov5th

Well, thanks for posting your experience. If it's been awhile then you are right, they may have changed. :confused3

I know we won't have the same deal we have at POP. That's ok. I'll pay more for the FOTL pass. And I just see it as being someplace to really have fun without little kids.

I know we are all Disney fans but for some of us November will be their second time there this year so maybe doing something else in addition to WDW would be a nice break. :confused3

I'm for it if everyone else is. So far the interest seems to be there. Or at least people are willing to give it a shot. And if it sucks then we know not to do it again. Right?

We have had the opposite experince at Universal. The rates are lower and even better with an AP. We have stayed at RPR and HRH and they have been right on par with the disney deluxe resorts we have stayed at.
Your right its not disney, its completely different but great.

Sorry you didnt have a good time there.

You think we can get a rate lower than $67 a night?

No, but you cant at a Disney Deluxe either. I have a rate in June for the RPR for 1 weekend night for $159 and the next weeknight at $129. I would love to pay that for a deluxe at Disney.
