NOTE: The price for the Fantasmic Dinner Package will increase as of April 1, 2007:

Brown Derby: Ages 10 and older $43.99 (plus tax and gratuity); children ages 3-9 $11.99 (plus tax and gratuity).

Mama Melrose: Ages 10 and older $32.99 (plus tax and gratuity); children ages 3-9 $11.99 (plus tax and gratuity). You will be able to choose from the regular menu as of this date.

Adult meal includes appetizer, entree, dessert and non-specialty, non-alcoholic beverage.
There is not expected to be any change in the price of the Fantasmic package at Hollywood and Vine.

What is the Fantasmic! Dining Experience?

The Fantasmic! Dining Experience includes dinner at one of the participating Disney-MGM Studios restaurants and reserved seating in the Fantasmic! amphitheater. As of this writing, only Brown Derby, Mama Melrose, and Hollywood & Vine are participating.

This means that instead of waiting in line for 60-90 minutes outside the theater, you can walk right up to the theater 30-45 minutes before show time, (no waiting in line!) and still have a seat.

Is there a charge for the package?

There is no additional charge for the package itself. However, the package, which includes a fixed price dinner and the Fantasmic! seating pass, MUST be guaranteed at the time of booking with a credit card, and a $10 cancellation fee applies if not cancelled at least 48 hours beforehand.

Prices for the fixed price dinners are as follows:

Brown Derby $36.99 adult/$10.99 child (3-9) not including admission, tax, and gratuity. Your choice of appetizer, soup, or salad; entree; and dessert from menu. Items include Spice Grilled Filet Mignon, Pan-Seared Grouper, and The Original Cobb Salad. Adult beverages NOT included. Child's meal includes beverage.

Mama Melrose $28.99 adult/$10.99 child (3-9) not including admission, tax, and gratuity. Your choice of one wood-fired flatbread to share from Mama's rustic on-stage kitchen, as well as family style salad, and choice of entree. Dessert: Mama's signature Fantasmic! Tiramisu. Adult beverages NOT included. Child's meal includes beverage.

Hollywood & Vine
$23.99 adult/$11.99 child (3-9) not including admission, tax, and gratuity (no characters). All you care to eat buffet. Choose from a number of selections including; oven-roasted Prime Rib, Citrus Baked Chicken, Pan-seared Salmon, and Stir-Fry Noodles with Sesame. Also includes fresh salads and build your own ice cream/dessert bar. Adult beverages NOT included. Child's meal includes beverage.

All packages include a special pass for seating at that night's Fantasmic! and dinner at the restaurant chosen.

Report to your restaurant 10 minutes before your Fantasmic! Dining Experience Reservation, and you'll receive your special Fantasmic! seating pass at that time. Theme park admission is NOT included.

Can I Use the Magic Your Way Dining Plan with the Fantasmic Dining Experience?

Yes, as of September 2, 2005, the Magic Your Way Dining Plan can be used to purchase a Fantasmic Dining Experience. You can also get the Fantasmic Dining Experience if you have the Magic Your Way Premium Package or, starting in 2006, the Platinum Package.

Hollywood & Vine and Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano both count as one Table Service meal for the Dining Plan, while the Brown Derby counts as a Signature experience, or two Table Service meals.

When you call to make a reservation, your credit card number will be taken, but the charge won't be put through (unless you are a no-show, or do not cancel at least 48 hours before your dining date). You will pay with your Magic Your Way Dining Plan when you dine, just as you would for any meal.

Do I have a reserved seat?

No, only the section itself is reserved for those with the Dining Experience. Within the reserved section, seating is on a first come-first served basis, so if you want your choice of seats, you should arrive early.

How do I book the Fantasmic! Dining Experience?

You can book the package now for dates 180 days in advance by calling 1-407-WDW-DINE.

What if I have already made reservations in advance at one of those restaurants for dinner?

That Advance Reservation is distinct from the Fantasmic! Dining Experience. If you want the Fantasmic! Dining Experience you need to book it specifically.

Where is the reserved section?

The reserved section is all the way over on the right side of the theater - the Witch section. The amphitheater is set up so that there really are no *bad* seats, except you will get wet if you sit in the first few rows.

Where do I enter the theater?

Do NOT enter the Fantasmic! line that starts at the amphitheater's Sunset Boulevard entrance.

Present your Fantasmic! Dining Experience voucher 30 minutes prior to showtime at the Fantasmic! sign located on Hollywood Boulevard next to Oscar's Super Service (inside the turnstiles at the front of the park). Guests arriving less than 30 minutes prior to showtime will be offered standing room only, if available.

How early do I have to get to the theater?

You must arrive at least 30 minutes before the show starts. There are enough packages available that the Reserved section gets fairly filled up, so if you want a better seat selection within the reserved section, plan to arrive more than 30 minutes before show time. Even though you still need to arrive early, you do NOT have to wait in line like those without reserved seating - you can just walk straight to the reserved section and sit down.

What if that night's show is cancelled?

According to the policies of the Fantasmic! Dining Experience, if the show is cancelled because of weather your pass is invalid, and you will NOT be issued a new one.

Is it worth doing?

If you dislike waiting in line, or have little ones who can't tolerate the waiting, the Fantasmic! Dining Experience is probably worth it. The reserved seating area affords a fine view of the show, which is very entertaining.

Hiya
I live in Orlando, and visit the parks as often as possible. I am an annual passholder and a disney dining experience member. I hope I can catch up with you guys or some of you guys during the weekend. Would be nice to at least say hi, and meet other Disser's.

Just spent St Patty's weekend there with friends, Old Key West. In May friends coming to town and will be there with them at POP Century. I normally don't stay onsite since I live like 30 mins. For your Nov meet I would drive down and not stay onsite. Still would be great to meet during the weekend.

Then I am going solo in Sept on 7 night Western Caribbean DCL Magic. (Unless a friend decides to go or even someone from the DIS boards wants to go and needs someone to share a room) Last few years I have celebrated my birthday (which is in Sept) at WDW but this year decided to celebrate it on a DCL. At my age, have also decided I have the right to celebrate all week esp since will be cruising <G>

Well hope to meet up in Nov and share the Magic of Disney.

Hi Marsha, and welcome to the group! That would be great if you could meet up with us. This is really a terrific group of ladies!

Beth, I did the fantasmic dining package last year (I think) with the family, since we were there in June and it was crowded, I thought it would be worth it. It definately was because of the wait time (no way was I going to go in 2 hours before the show started with the kiddos) but I was disappointed with the reserved seating, it is on the far right side of the theater. When we went last Sept. A few of us saw Fantasmic, same kind of seating, except on the left side of the theater and I think we walked in maybe 15/20 minutes beforehand. So I doubt in November it would be that crowded either. Now if you want to do the nice dining for the experience, then yeah it is worth it, but probably not for the advanced seating.

Edited to add: I am all for seeing Fantasmic as a group. Just if you want to save some money, the dining package might not be worth it that time of year.

Thanks for the Welcome. I realize I am jumping in here late but really do hope to meet some of you that weekend. Will take me a while to go back and read the thread from beginning but plan on doing so. just to get to know those of you that are coming.

Anyone doing anything "special" or "extra" this time around, like a tour or something?

And if the International Dinner and Illuminations Dessert Reception isn't scheduled for that time after all, is anyone interested in doing a dinner show?

I've seen Hoop Dee Doo Revue already so I wouldn't want to see that, but maybe the Polynesian one? Has anyone seen that or heard much about it?

Or what about the Fantasmic Dinner package. I missed Fantasmic last time and I'd love to see it without having to wait this time around.

Just think only 46 more days before we can start booking our ADRs!!! :rotfl2:

I am interested in doing a tour- probably the one at Magic Kingdom.

And I've done the fantasmic package before, and it's fine, but yeah, you don't get extra good seats or anything. I'd still do it though, just to avoid not having to wait. Actually the last 2 times we did the package, we have missed the show, because of rain! And not just a little sprinkle, I'm talking downpour both times! Granted, they still had the show each time. But sitting in cold downpour is not our idea of fun- esp with 2 little kids. You guys might not want me to go along on the Fantasmic package! I think it's doomed to rain every time I try to see the show!

That could be true. I didn't think about that. So if we are interested in going to one of those restaurants anyways, can we then just add on the package? I mean we are using the DP anyways right, so does it make a difference? :confused3

I'm just thinking if we have to eat dinner someplace anyways, and then we can see how the crowds are. If they are light we can choose our own spots. If it's really busy we can go with the reserved seating.

Well, it's something to think about in any case. I am still really hoping for the Illuminations thing though. :wizard:

I still have never seen Fantasmic. So maybe this trip! :lmao:
Never??? OMG, yes you are seeing it this time if I have to drag you there myself. ;)

I am interested in doing a tour- probably the one at Magic Kingdom.
Do you mean the Keys to the Kingdom tour? I took that last trip with about 8 or so other ladies and I think it's safe to say we all really enjoyed it!!

The tour guide was great, and lunch was yummy. It wasn't too hot that day and we got to see lots of cool things. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's never done it.

Please tell me her name isn't really Marsha Brady.

:rotfl: We have a celeb with us now!!

It's never to late to jump in and we'd love to meet you! This is our reference thread with all the trip info on it, so you can always check here for the latest plans. :thumbsup2

At looks as if I won't need to do the Segway Tour in November after all. My BIL and I are booked to do the tour this April. If I love it, I'll go again - but I'll try Keys to the Kingdom or some sort of Scavenger Hunt. (DVC if offering one on select dates to members. I hope they offer something like this when we go that is open to all!)

If you haven't done the KTTK tour, I'd highly recommend it. I am so glad I did it, and might even go again. Maybe. But I think everyone should go once. It was really good. :thumbsup2

Hey it's me Marsha Brady :rotfl2: No not really. My last name isn't brady. But since I have had to hear marsha marsha marsha all my life, brady became a nickname. therefore became a good online user name.

plus the marsha brady from "Brady Bunch" spelled hers Marcia.

So you are safe I am not blonde, oldest of the girls, never had my nose broken cause a brother threw a football at me, etc...

:hippie: :hippie:

Weren't you in love with Davy Jones too? The monkee, not the guy with the octopus face.

Was everybody horrified when you showed up at the prom with an undead guy with an octopus face?

I wonder if it's not too early to start thinking about what days we want to do which park?? That will help us start to plan our ADR's as well.

Last time I just set all that up, but this time, I'd like more input on what days we should do which park. Some of you might have a method to your madness, where as I am just more random. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

I know things will change and that's fine. But we should get a general idea. Like last time, if we make an ADR we can always cancel it. But if we wait, we may not get what we want, when we want it.

i'll go with the flow.
i'm not doing the dining plan.

didn't get any of the discount codes this year.
only did the AAA discount for room
