Blue Bell Ice Cream!

Homemade is the best and oldest flavor.

Noooo! The Natural Vanilla Bean is the best! :rotfl2:

Actually, I've only had the Buttercrunch (only found it one time darnit!), Pecan praline vanilla (name's not exactly right), Dutch Chocolate and Natural Vanilla Bean. The Buttercruch and Praline ones used the homemade vanilla as a base; I'v enot ahd the HV by itself. That Natural Vanilla Bean was awesome! It tasted like real homemade ice cream right out of the churn. :thumbsup2 Next time i think I will try the banana pudding unless I find the buttercrunch again.

I've been buying it in Lumberton, NC at Walmart and Walgreen's. The closest coming north to Raleigh I've heard it's available is Fayetteville. I know Pittsboro and Mebane have it, but that's west, and I don't go that way very often. My mother lives in Lumberton, and I've been going down to take her to chemo; that's why I get it there. I just buy the pints, though. They are $2.09 at Walmart and $2.29 (or 2 for $4) at Walgreens. Walgreens had it on sale for $1.99 the other week, though; a pleasant surprise when I got to the register as there was no sign nor was it in the flyer. :)

I did buy the one 1/2 gal of natural vanilla bean for a birthday party at work. It's I think 5.47 at Walmart and 5.99 at Walgreens.

I am trying to be good about it and only get it a couple times a month. I'm kinda glad they don't sell it anywhere closer, to be honest. :rotfl2:

We've been buying BlueBell for over 25 yrs. It was a treat for us in college that we could afford the $1 pints.

Some flavors are seasonal - my absolute favorite is White Chocolate Almond, but it seems to be a fall flavor only. Should be available soon! As a family, we've always bought the French Vanilla Bean - great alone or with chocolate powder or syrup.

When the pints are on sale for $1 (once in a great while), I'll buy a different flavor for each kid and my hubby - banana split, mint chocolate chip, choc chip cookie dough, The Great Divide, and Peaches and Cream.

We've toured the creamery in Brennan. (I figure most Aggies have - it's not too far from town!)

So happy that so many outside of Texas are discovering our little secret. Nothing beats Blue Bell.

Blue Bell and Shiner Beers make me proud to be a Texan. :goodvibes

I couldn't agree more. One of my favorite ice creams and one of my favorite beers, both homegrown.

Blue Bell puts out different flavors on occasion, and I have been known to hoard them. Out now is my all time favorite, Chocolate Almond Marshmellow. It's kinda like Rocky Road, except that the almonds are whole and covered in chocolate, and it has marshmellow cream swirled in instead of whole marshmellows. They used to have Southwester flavors like "Dos Amigos" which was half mexican chocolate and half mexican vanilla, it was incredible! And "Tres Leches" which was kinda like the cake, also incredible, but I haven't seen those in a while.

We only have one store that sells the half gallons, and from reading here, we don't get a large variety of flavors. However, I do get their individual treats. I have to put a plug in for their mini ice cream cones. They are SO cute and yummy!!

Where in the DC area can you get Blue Bell?!?!? I love it, but only get it when i head south....I would be willing to drive with an ice chest for some blue bell almost any flavor!!!

I wish the flavor list on their site was more complete. Last night I ran across cotton candy!

Being less than an hour from the factory has its perks definitely, since we can find almost every flavor that's current in our grocery store. My mom is from California and when she comes to visit she is obsessed with banana pudding ice cream :rotfl: Now if only I wasn't lactose intolerant :guilty:

Indy area Meijers have Blue Bell for $4 so after coupon, $3 per half gallon! :cool1:

Do they make any flavors that don't have high fructose corn syrup in the ingredients? I loved their ice cream...until I saw HFCS listed in the incredients.

The natural vanilla bean does not have HFCS.

It warms my heart that there is a 4 page discussion of Blue Bell Ice Cream. I grew up on Blue Bell. My mother thought there was nothing better in the world than Homemade Vanilla. I loooovvvvveee Fudge Brownie Nut. So yummy. It is a rotational flavor so not always out there.

We did the Blue Bell tour 2 years ago. We went during spring break and saw a ton of bluebonnets in the area. Too bad we won't see much for a while because of the drought.

Indy folks- 3.49 at Marsh after their store coupon (you can print it by viewing this weeks circular at marsh.net) so 2.49 after adding the bluebell.com q!

An hour round trip for Blue Bell. Nice.

And here I am living in Texas, the home of Blue Bell, and we buy it maybe once or twice a year. It is the most delicous available in the grocery store, we just don't eat ice cream often. It's available everywhere here- grocery, gas station, convienence store, Wal Greens, CVS.
