Hello, I booked a late lunch for Blue Bayou (3:20p.m.) for July 15, I didn't ask for a table with a view of POC. Should I have done that when I made the PS's? Is it too late to do it now? Thanks!

I could easily be wrong, but I don't believe that they note that kind of request when taking the PS.

Really the only view (although it is lovely) the waterside tables get is of the backwoods/bayou scenery and the occasional boat of riders floating past. And sometimes that's more annoying than anything else (just think of some people that you've seen on rides).

It is nice gazing out over the water and looking at the fireflies. But it's not a make-or-break kind of thing.

We at there during our trip in June. We had a 2:00 PS, got there about 10 mins early, asked for a waterside table (as I had been told when making the PS that the waterside request needed to be made when we arrived for seating, not before). Was told it would be another 20-30 mins but ended up being just 10 and we were seated right on time, by the water. I thought it was nice...my DS8 absolutely loved that we were right next to the water. Every time we rode POTC after that, he would talk about how much he liked eating "right over there". Don't forget to look for the shooting star overhead!

I think it would be worth a try to call back and ask. I wanted to sit there a few years ago, but my sister got sick before we could get over there. She go the stomach bug. I think it was just from being tired though.

I think it would be nice to do once. Maybe after the first time it wont be that big of a deal. That was the case in Mexico at EPCOT.

I agree with Amberle. IMO, the waterside view isn't really necessary to enjoy the atmosphere. I sat in a waterside table for the first time recently. It was okay, but the whole time I had this feeling I was being watched. As long as you aren't in the back of the restaurant, you'll be fine.

I did call back for our reservation in June and was told to tell them when I checked in at the booth. I did, and we did get water side...but we had the first seating of the day. We really enjoyed it!! It is great atmosphere! Just tell them when you check in, and they will accomodate..you may have to wait a bit longer though.

Thank you for the replies, I had hoped that I could just ask when we got there. My kids will think it's cool, I hope, you never can tell with teenagers.

The last time I ate at the Blue Bayou was in February, and we had a water view seat.

Most of the boats that passed were fairly inobtrusive, just taking in their surroundings.

One or two of the boats were filled with teenagers who were very loud and annoying.

One boat had a guy who yelled over to the diners, asking how the food was.

One boat had a parent/child combo that you could hear talking, the kid was pointing out the diners and the parent was saying "no, those aren't real people honey".

So while a water view can add a little to the experience, it can also intrude upon it as well.

Not to discourage anyone from asking for/taking a water view, just want people to be aware that it can be a little disruptive depending on who's floating past you.

Water front seating is great. Just ask when you check in, you may have to wait a few extra minutes but its worth it. We have gotten water side both times we have eaten there and loved it both times.
