Blue Bayou - thoughts?

2 years ago we didn’t have any issues with 4 people requesting a waterside table and saying we were willing to wait. We were seated in about 20 minutes. We are going back next month with 6 people so I was a little worried already with the amount of people. Now hearing this I’m more worried. 😂 I already feel uncomfortable making the request in person.

Don't feel uncomfortable. They'll say ok or they'll say no. That's no reflection on you! It has been commonplace for a long time so it's definitely been an established practice. If that has changed, it's not your fault that you didn't know or weren't sure.

We ask every time (including about 2 weeks ago) and have never been denied. The best way to do it is to make an 11am reservation and show up at least 20 minutes early and ask then. All the waterside tables are open at that time.

This has worked well for us in the past. I wasn’t able to get 11am this, but did get 11:10. I feel like all the waterside tables will be gone with the 11am check ins.

Agreed! A polite request is never a problem -- "Could we get a waterside table, if there's one available?", with a hopeful smile, is just that: a request. If they are able to accommodate you, they will; if not, they'll say no. They know these tables are desirable, and it's only ever a problem if the guest is rude or entitled about it.

Oh, and I figured out my problem with the Fantasmic/BB package in early October: Fantasmic is apparently going to Fri-Sat-Sun only by the time I wanted to book it on a Thursday night. womp womp! In other years, this wouldn't have been a problem, but this time, we're only doing four full days in the parks -- M-T-W-Th. So we either shift our fifth day to Sunday (arrival day), and don't go into the parks on Friday at all, or we take a pass on Fantasmic and maybe see World of Color one night, for the first time since 2015. TBD on that.

We're doing the same, Tue-Thur at the parks. We'll miss Fantasmic. But we already had plane tickets before I found out about the weekend only. At least this time Fantasmic didn't light on fire the week before we went. Or it hasn't yet.

In the long thread about Fantasmic, one person mentioned that they had a regular BB reservation and were offered the Fantasmic package if they wanted it. I'm not sure if that happens on a regular basis.

If they offer it to you, will you please ask if Fantasmic dining is always an option with a regular reservation and report back?
In previous years, you were able to ask your server for the Fantasmic package when you were seated. I done done this for the past few years, no problem. I made a reservation for BB this year (opening weekend of Fantasmic/Memorial Day weekend) and called the Guest Info line to confirm if the process was the same. The cast member told me over the phone that the process was the same, and I could request the Fanstasmic package when I checked in for my BB reservation. I also noticed that this information was noted on my email confirmation.
On the day of my BB reservation, I checked in and was told by a very rude manager that I absolutely could NOT get the Fanstasmic package for my group. I explained that Guest Services stated that I could request the Fantasmic package and I showed her the email which also states the same thing. Instead of trying to offer an alternative, she threatened to call security to "deal" with me.
I spoke to a different manager after that, and he was able to accommodate our group.
Long story short... I think Fantasmic package availability is dependent on how busy they are, and who you talk to.

Yikes, I'm so sorry that happened to you.

Good to hear that.

I recently cancelled a Blue Bayou Fantasmic reservation. It was only a couple of days in advance and I was curious how quickly it would be snatched up. After I canceled, I went onto the app and it offered Blue Bayou dinner reservation 6 pm, Blue Bayou Fantasmic first show 6 pm and Blue Bayou Fantasmic second show 6 pm. Once someone grabbed it, all three reservation options were gone.

Interesting. So the reservations aren't identified as Fantasmic package or not.
I wish I could do the Fantasmic package. Or even see Fantasmic. Sadly it's only showing on the weekend and we'll be there weekdays. Saved a bundle on the ticket price though so I can't complain.

If you want a Fantasmic package, you need to make a reservation that indicates it is for Fantasmic. What I was trying to say is that seats in the restaurant appear to be the limiting factor. If more reservations for non-Fantasmic packages are made, that impacts how many restaurant seats they have available for Fantasmic package diners.

I didn't read through the threads, so forgive the repeat if already stated.

We were just there a couple weeks ago. The food is average to very good. I got the pasta meal with shrimp and it was very good. Daughter got the Montecristo sandwich and it's decadent. It's super good but rich. Service is okay. but took forever. Ambiance is outstanding. Overall, definitely liked it and recommend despite minor issues with service.

We never were able to prebook BB but had no problem finding reasonable spots each day we were there. People cancel last minute and so we would regularly check the app for an opening and found two of them. So I would keep trying now, but also when you're there use the app and cycle through it regularly in the morning and while waiting in lines, you'll likely get a spot.

Okay I'm kinda frustrated. I got an alert about a reservation time. Tried to use it but I have to log into my Disneyland account on the website every. single. time. By the time I logged in, the reservation was gone. It was literally one minute since I got the alert. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to stay logged in to the Disneyland website? I've tried computer and phone. I'm even logged in to the app on my phone.
