Blue Bayou & Birthday Dinner

So I was planning on booking Blue Bayou for my son's birthday in January, but the TDR website says it is closed from September 2022 to April 2023!

Just curious as to why it is closed for so long?

And, with Blue Bayou closed - what would you recommend for a nice birthday dinner for my son (8 years old) in Disneyland Park?

BB is closed in tandem with POTC which is undergoing it's 1st big refurb in 15 yrs.
Hokusai is our goto place for table service.

I would think an 8 year old would have fun at Queen of Hearts even if it's just for the birthday cake
