BLT vs OKW - worth the price difference?

I'm looking at renting points for a trip this summer. We are a family of 5 (kids ages 18, 16, and 11) and like our space. I can get a 1 bdr at BLT or a 2 bdr at OKW. The BLT 1 bdr is $2000 more than the 2 bdr at OKW. Seems like a no brainer to me to go with the 2 bedroom. But any opinions?

Note, we've stayed at BLT before but not OKW. I know we could walk to MK if we go with BLT, but I don't have a problem using Uber/Lyft as needed if we stay at OKW (and I know uber only takes us to the TTC). $2000 is a lot of ubers. lol

A few things that may affect this decision. We're thinking about doing mostly evenings in the parks - sleep in (except to book Genie), lunch/shop/swim/etc during the day, then hit the parks around dinner (hopefully stacking Genie+ all day so we have some for the evening). We'd make use of the after hours for deluxe guest if/when available. So I'm thinking the boat to Disney Springs would be useful for during the day.

Am I missing any reason OKW wouldn't be the best choice for us?

I’m a “space” person,OKW 2bed gives me my own, private space. Plus you get a nice family room to hang out. I’d love to try BLT one day (maybe just me and my DH)

I would definitely go with OKW. The 2 bedrooms are massive with plenty of space for 5. The kids would have their own room and bathroom.

I wouldn’t Uber / Lyft to MK. Take the bus. Yes there are multiple stops, but since (as you know) you only get to the TTC if you Uber / Lyft you are going to be faster just busing.

OKW also has better pools and the access to DS. Great for those age groups.

OKW has the biggest rooms on property. I was in a one bedroom in Dec and it was bigger than some apartments I have had. Also, the busses from OKW to the resorts and DS work just fine. They just go through the resort stopping at several bus stops until they get to yours.

Absolutely, 100%, without a doubt, OKW!! The older age group your kids are in make the layout of OKW a non-issue IMO. We usually have a car at Disney, but will still take the bus to MK to avoid dealing with the TTC.

For relaxing days like you have planned, OKW is great. You can take a walk around the resort, enjoy the HUGE 2BR villa, pools, boat to Springs, recreation, etc. You truly feel like you're on vacation at OKW vs BLT. The rooms at BLT feel cramped to me, especially with 3 older kids. You're looking at a single sofa and cramped dining area there, while OKW has a true dining table + 2 sofas to spread out on. A 2BR at OKW is bigger than most 2BR apartments. 😂

I've been staying at OKW since it opened so please feel free to ask me anything I didn't cover. Always trying to show people that it's a great resort.

We just came back from a week in a 2 bd at OKW and loved it. You can´t beat the space which you need with 3 older kids. It´s easy getting around the resort using the buses; hop on any bus near your unit and it will stop at Hospitality House (main pool area) before leaving the resort, then we would walk to the bus stop at Peninsula and go to back to our unit on the whichever bus came next.

The busses work fine for getting to the theme parks.

Since you plan to head to parks later in the day, I'd bus to the park, maybe uber at the end of the night to avoid waiting for 3 or 4 buses go by.

But as much as we love the walk to BLT, 2 grand is a lot.
