BLT vs Kidani

I just called and waitlisted for BLT Dec 27-Jan1 in instead of my current ressie at Kidani. Sound like a good idea? I know most people haven't been there yet, but I'm a sucker for new places. If it doesn't come through I'll be happy at Kidani.

I would do it. That Top of the World lounge looks awesome!

I think it depends on your tastes. Two totally different styles. I was just over at BLT again and it doesn't really feel like a Disney resort but it is classy.

The rooms were beautiful at Kidani, we just stayed there 2 weeks ago in a studio. Nice size room, warm inviting lighting, and excellent finishings. Our disappointment with Kidani is that it didn't feel like a Disney resort. The first thing you see is a parking garage under the building, which though convenient, interrupted any kind of theming that was going on. My partner commented that it was the first time he's ever seen a cinder block on Disney property. Also the pool was very small and crowded every time we went even though the resort was fairly empty. Also it is rather secluded from the rest of the World, though some folks enjoy that. If you happen to get a savannah view and don't mind a longer trek to the other parks, I'm sure you will enjoy the resort. We just happen to be complete theming/story nerds and have been spoiled by the Beachclub and Boardwalk Villas and their proximity to Epcot.

Part of the reason I'm considering the switch is because we stayed at Kidani in May. We loved it and had a great time, although I do think that pool is going to get packed once all the rooms go online. I did enjoy the parking structure even if it takes away from the look somewhat.

We are staying at BCV for 7 nights then moving to Kidani right now. The second half of the stay we are hoping for more down time and to do more at the resort. If we are at the BLT looking at MK we might have a hard time staying in the room That said, we love trying out new places and things so this might be a good chance to try it out. Can you tell I'm waffling?

If you have already stayed at Kidani I would go for BLT. BLT really doesn't look like my style, but I have always wanted to stay at The Contemporary so I'm thinking of BLT for our next trip. I can't imagine it that I would HATE it, so I think it'll be worth it to try it out.

We will be staying in both Kidani and BLT starting on Sunday. Can't wait! I have a feeling that akl/jambo will remain our favorite, but I know we're going to love these two as well. No harm in a waitlist, OP.

Exactly! If I get it great, if not I'll be fine at Kidani, we loved it there. I'm going to save it as a surprise for the family if we get it.

I dream of staying in a BLT Magic Kingdom view just one time. I was thinking about going on the waitlist for December hoping that some new inventory would show up. After listen to the show I really want to stay there.

Definately waitlist for BLT Don. We did the same for VWL in December and ours came through. We thought hard about doing the waitlist for BLT but WL and Christmas/December just go together.

For PCC 2.0 we plan to book SSR at 11 mon and then waitlist Kidani or BLT.

I waitlisted for Standard or Lake View. We had a MK view at CR a few years ago, but we aren't view people I guess, we don't spend much time looking out the windows. I actually changed my ressie at Kidani from Savannah View to Standard after staying with a Savannah View and the kids weren't that into it. (spoiled brats )

jorge, we were able to get BCV at the 7 month windows for Xmas week. I've always been able to get any resort at the 7 month window if I called the first day possible. Best of luck for you, Kidani is great.

I guess I am not really a view person either. I would just want to watch the fireworks and I guess that is what the Top of the World lounge if for. Did I get that name right?

My son is a spoiled brat too. He thinks that everyone gets to go to WDW over and over.

Good Point, I forgot we could just watch them from the top of the world. All the more reason to get a standard view.

We have a lake view at BLT for the 2 weeks we are there in December.
We have both weeks waited for a MK view.
I am only hoping for 1 week to come through out of the 2 we are waiting for.
I am hoping we have the MK view on our second week in the 1 bedroom.
That way I can try both views.

Hope you get your wait list. We were just at Kidani last May too and we had a standard view. We were able to see the two legged animals getting off the bus from our view. But we are like you and don't care for the view. I would like one day to stay at BLT just because of it's location from MK.
