BLT View

I didn't see a thread discussing this, but I just saw that MK view no longer "exists" when you book a room at BLT. The former MK view is called theme park view now.

I guess DVC heard the complaints...

I think around late February people started noticing that their confirmations of MK views were being labeled Theme Park views. The theory is that that the view names are becoming generic so the DVC computer system is more simply programmed and the titles can be used at multiple DVC resorts, including VGC and WDW. My theory is that the change ocurred when the VGC opened in December 2009 and BLT owners just didn't notice it for awhile. However you could be correct that the MK view complaints may have caused the change.

I believe this is related to standardizing a description in their system for BLT, Contemporary, Poly, Grand Floridian, GCV and maybe some overseas resorts that I am not familar with.

I don't believe this has anything to do with complaints.

Just a question, but why would it be as a result of complaints? Are some of the MK views not good?? We have our first stay in a mk view room booked and I am so excited, I thought we would have a good view (even if it is a lot of car park!)

in the CR the magic kingdom views start on the 5th floor - at BLT they did start on the first - now I think it is the 2nd - the 5th floor at CR - goes to at least the 7th floor if not the 8th floor at BLT.

that can make a lot of difference. you can see mostly parking lot view - but just a little of the MK.

The View out of either side of BLT are great. The MK view offers the fireworks in the evening and the electric water parade as well as the Grand Floridian and Poly.
The Lake view is a nice relaxing tranquil view of Bay Lake.

Both Views are Great. It depends on what you want to look at.
