BLT TPV April availability

So we're heading to the BLT towards the end of April this year. We had to change dates due to flight pricing (paying $600 for 3 of us as opposed to $2000......midweek is soooo much cheaper for flights as opposed to weekends)!
Of course when I rebooked I could only get half the trip in a TPV room and the other half LV. We've been waitlisting for a TPV (1 bedroom FYI) since early Nov so far. Because we have an Autistic son, and spend lots of time on the balcony watching the Monorail, a Lake view is a tough sell for him (tho we're trying to prepare him as well as possible).

Here's my confusion. I'm surprised at the availability for Bay Lake view, as well as Standard, when I look at the DVC availability tool for April (tho not during the first week). With everything I've read, seems most folks want to save points and NOT book the Theme Park view.

Have things since changed? Are others TOTALLY in love with the TPV as we are? We stayed in a BLV room in Nov ..."inside C " room. We're all set with that....unless they could guarantee an "outside C" room haha....that view is VERY nice FYI! Even still I think we will stick with the TPV.....we're just sooo in love (some say there's a parking lot below??? Haha! What parking lot?) .

Guess I'm just curious......has the TPV always been the most advantageous and I just thought otherwise?

Lakeview is the largest category so it's not odd that would be available. And almost always standard view still books before TPV. IMO you're just seeing an odd blip or a time when all others going have the same idea as you. FWIW I also prefer the TPV rooms though but when I look I continue to see standard view gone first, then TPV because it is relatively small too and then lakeview because it's the largest category.
