BLT to open early!!! Confirmed!

...I just added the last 3 nights at BCV. Should I try to switch to BLT and surprise the rest of the family?? It would be nice to be one of the first to stay there !

That would be the coolest surprise--especially if they don't know the resort is even open, yet. (I wouldn't be able to keep it a surprise, though. )

... ya know...... all this time I've been adamant about not wanting to stay at BLT (too city-like for me)

.... and now that it's posted that it'll be opening early I caught my heart skipping a beat and somewhere in the back of my head I swear I heard "Cool, I should add on there" Someone smack me.

this is all saids:

"New Disney Vacation Club Resort bookings begin Feb. 8"

Didn't specify which resort... so im guessing all of them.

oh wait- it said 2 new resort... my bad

Does anyone know if the 22nd is the actual date for those of us who don't own there? I'm waiting to be put in the system (resale), I've heard it can be up to 14 business days!!!!! That would be cutting it close if the date for non owners is the 22nd!

On that same date, Members with ownership interests at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort may begin making reservations for the resort's new Treehouse Villas accommodations.

All Disney Vacation Club Members may book reservations for Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort and the Treehouse Villas accommodations at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa beginning on Feb. 22.

Construction of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort remains ahead of schedule, putting the new Disney Vacation Club Resort on pace for an estimated opening on Aug. 4.

I'm not a DVC member, but I can't say I'm surprised by this. I am a local, so am at the parks a lot. Two weeks ago I was at MK -when the monorail passed BLT, the progress was amazing -MANY rooms had curtins in the windows and you could see furniture inside already! Obviously, work was still ongoing -the bridge is under construction, the outside isn't finished, who knows what the pool looks like, etc., but it's looking a lot less like a construction site these days.

We were there last week and I was thinking the same thing - looks a lot closer to done than even 7 more months of work. On our drive home on Friday DH and I were discussing what to try to book March 1 when BLT bookings open - looks like I need to figure that out a bit faster than I thought!

We closed on resale last Monday, and we were in the system by Thursday. Good luck to you. I think you'll be fine if you've already closed and are just waiting on Disney.
