BLT to open early!!! Confirmed!

Just heard from our guide tonight that BLT will open Aug. 4

MS will begin taking reservations Feb. 8

We are BEYOND excited!! Good luck getting your ressies!!

We've been hearing this a lot whenever we deliver to the Contemporary (in fact, we had heard they might be ready as early as May). Glad it's been confirmed!

FEB 8th is also the first day for SSR owners for THV (unless they changed that, too). If I worked at member services, I think the prospect of two properties opening up for reservations on the same day would make me break out in hives...

Interesting. According to the points chart, the original opening date was in the "Adventure Season", meaning lowest point cost. The new opening date is in the "Magic Season", meaning second to highest point cost.

Darn, we might have to do another add on! Gee, wonder if that was an accident or on purpose?

I currently have an ressie at SSR for late September for my birthday. DH plans to try to switch it to BLT as soon as they start taking reservations for non-owners. If we don't get it, I'll be perfectly happy with SSR but staying at BLT for my 50th birthday just sounded kind of neat.

This is interesting news! Our trip is Aug. 15th thru the 23rd. Originally the opening was going to be after our trip. I just added the last 3 nights at BCV. Should I try to switch to BLT and surprise the rest of the family?? It would be nice to be one of the first to stay there !

Does anyone know if the 22nd is the actual date for those of us who don't own there? I'm waiting to be put in the system (resale), I've heard it can be up to 14 business days!!!!! That would be cutting it close if the date for non owners is the 22nd!
