BLT Studio questions - packing!

Hi all,

We are leaving Sat for a our first stay home at BLT! We are in a Studio.

I have a few questions....

Do they have hairdryers? If so, are they the little ones or full size?

Do they provide soap and shampoo? Liquid bath soap or bar soap in the showers?

What happens with the garbarge? Do we get extra bags so we can take out our own garbarge (if so where do we put it?).

Can we have trash and towel day moved up? We are there only five nights, would love to have it on day 3 instead of 4

Can we get extra towels by request or do we have to steal some from the pool area?? I hate wet towels!

Where do we go for the Top of World lounge?

I haven't stayed at a studio, and while I think most of the amenities are the same from resort to resort, I'll let someone with direct experience answer.

What happens with the garbarge? Do we get extra bags so we can take out our own garbarge (if so where do we put it?).

There should be an extra bag or two in the bottom of the trash can. Trash rooms aren't on every floor - we were on 2 in 7216 and the closest was on 4 between 7417 and 7419. Not sure how many floors they are on.

Can we have trash and towel day moved up? We are there only five nights, would love to have it on day 3 instead of 4

It never hurts to ask.

Can we get extra towels by request or do we have to steal some from the pool area?? I hate wet towels!

Towel packs (2 each bath towel, hand towel, wash cloth) are $6.

Where do we go for the Top of World lounge?

Go to the lobby and a CM at the desk will check your room card to see that it says DVC Member and you are a BLT guest. They will take you to the express elevator and use their card to give you access to the lounge.

I can answer a few of your questions. They do have the small sample bottles of shampoo, etc. in the room when you get there. I am not sure if they can be replenished.

To get more towels, you have to pay for them. I believe it is like $6.00 for an additional set of 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, and 2 washcloths. Well worth it IMO.

To go to TOWL, you go to the 1st floor check in desk. They will check to see that you are DVC members staying at BLT and will ask for your KTTW card. You will then be allowed to go up to the 16th floor lounge. When I was there in August, the CM escorted us into the elevator. I am not sure if this is still the case.

I don't know if they allow you to move trash and towel day but I would call and ask. There were trash bags in the bottom of the cans so when we filled up, we just tied it up, and put in a new one. There was a garbage room in the building (but I can't remember where....sorry!).

I have a question related to this. We have 7 of us in our 2 Bed. Will they give us 2 per person w/out being charged for more? How many do they stock them with? Also, I didn't think about this til now, but we are a grand gathering and have 2 rooms... 1 studio and 1 2bd. My parents are the members. We are staying on their points. Will we all be able to go to the TOWL? Do we have to be with my parents in order to go up there? What are the stipulations for going up there?

I have called housekeeping many times to change the trash and towel day.
A 2 bedroom sleeps 8 and comes with enough towels for 8 people.

I believe you can ask at check in or call mousekeeping and they will bring them.

as stated, there should be 8 towels in the villa - you are welcome to pay for more if you like.

all of your room keys should say *DVC member* on them - if so, you will all be able to go up to the TOWL - with or without the actual DVC members being with you.

I had a full size hair dryer - it is in a cloth bag under the sink. Also has the full size hair dryer when I moved over to a newly refurbished room at BWV.
