Why are there no resales on the market for BLT? Does the resort have to be open before folks can sell?

I think it's as simple as people are not reselling them yet, if they just purchased it's unlikely they would sell right away and probably lose money with the way the market is right now.

Well I sure wish I could talk myself into buying a few small BLT contracts before Jan 14th. I bet they would resell nicely after theu raise the min add-on.

Blt opened for sales on Sep 20th. The first contracts that closed were in October at the earliest.

BLT points can't be used before Sept 1st 2009. (Ignoring the DP points).

I think the commission is generally 10% of the selling price through resales.

There has been no increase in price through Disney, yet.

Given all of the above, the owner will not have used the points at BLT even once and would have to sell a very recent acquistion at a loss--I would be very surprised if someone sold their BLT points right away. Stuff happens, but I would hate to see anyone in that situation.

In addition to the fine points of prior posters:

I think people would want to stay at BLT a bunch before they consider a resale. I venture to guess than the BLT contracts on the future resale market will be stripped, like many AKV contracts listed are right now.

Also, a BLT resale would be more worthwhile for a seller when Disney's price increases and when BLT sells out, especially those less-than-100 point contracts. Those contracts will be worth so much!

To the OP: if you already closed on a resale, you can buy direct from Disney without closing costs especially before the price increase takes effect.

generally early sellers - were divorced or bankuptcy.

so surprised myself that there are no resellers - can only guess that DVC is really looking at the credit information for a change.

some of the people that wanted to buy early were refused.

According to my source at DVC, credit is not redone, once approved, always approved. Again, according to a single source. It could also be just for preferred credit customers. Anyone to confirm this? JW

Another thing to consider is that it's likely many if not most buyers just had their first payment due in December. I'm sure there are some who will feel that payment pinch and reconsider their ownership soon.
