I am considering booking a BLT 1BR.
I received quotes from a travel agent and I've found those same quotes myself while searching online. But, as an infrequent WDW guest, I had NO IDEA about the DVC rental points market. I've researched the risks and no-cancellation policy, broker fees etc. and I'm weighing our options.
I'm trying to figure out what we'd be giving up for such a cost savings. Here's what I've come up with ~ please add to my list of potential drawbacks.
Also, what are the guidelines about the Top of the World Lounge? I see that guidelines exist somewhere that say DVC members have exclusive access. If we rented points (vs. purchased OOP), would we then be able to go up there? Do they police these guidelines strictly? There seem to be a lot of Tripadvisor reviewers who regularly watched fireworks up there.
Any and all comments most appreciated!

- Daily Housekeeping
- Risk of a rental agreement directly with DVC member
- Whatever perks/extras the travel agent would've gotten us
