BLT or VGF?

I am looking at a trip next summer in late May with my family (DH, DD6, DS2, plus my parents). I'm thinking about a 2 BR at either BLT or VGF - and I know 7 months is quickly approaching!

I have been bouncing around in resort choices. I love the location of BLT but the theme is just ok. Plus, the polar opposite reviews in the state of the rooms.

I would love the VGF if I could find a bargain. Still a great location and my mother has always wanted to stay there.

Love the idea of walking to MK but the monorail sounds great too. The VGF splash pad sounds fun.

Thoughts? Tips? Advice?

We stayed in a two bedroom villa at GF last September. I DID NOT WANT TO STAY THERE!! It was not "my type" of resort...

I fell in love with it. The master bath is stunning. The kitchen is beautiful. The villa was lovely, as were the people - both guests and CMs. We found that the transportation from VGF was lacking. The bus service was so bad that we ended up taking a car to both AK and HS. The monorail was not running one morning and we had to wait a really long time for the boat to take us to the MK. I don't think I would stay there without a car at my disposal. Part of my problem might be that I usually stay at AKV and am used to exceptional bus service.

I have stayed in a two bed at BLT and will be in one, again, next Saturday night for one night before moving over to Kidani. I am not a big fan of BLT. The two bedroom floor plans are very nice. The third bathroom is a huge bonus, as is the laundry room in the dedicated unit. To me, the swimming pool, along with the whole resort, is just blah.

I agree with PP...even with my 3 boys along, they loved VGF. It was definitely one of our favorite resorts ever!!!

Thank you both for your replies! I have to agree that VGF has such a beautiful setting. I'm just wondering if we would miss the ability to quickly get home for the MK. With a little one (DS2), I have a feeling we might need to a place to rest/relax/nap at least one or two days. How fast is it to travel between VGF and MK? I hear the monorail isn't terribly reliable, which is a big transportation selling point of VGF for us!

How is the relaxation factor at BLT? I think we will try to spend a few afternoons at the resort to enjoy the pool. Is shade/pool/splash area better at one than the other?

:thanks: Can you tell I'm just a little bit excited?!? :disrocks:

I think VGF pool is better for little kids, and they put in a new splash pad area a year or two ago. It is very nice.
