Hello All,
I really need help on choosing a resort. My family and I just decided to go to Disney in Aug. I'm having a hard time trying to pick which resort. My kids are now 9 and 5. I'm not sure which one would be better for us. We do plan on visiting all the parks including the water parks, plus we won't have a rental car this trip.

It's between BLT studio standard view or Akv (Jambo) savannah studio. In never stayed at Blt but it seems nice to be close to Magic Kingdom. I never stayed at the Jambo side so I'm a little worried about the view. I'm using points so I would be on the 5th floor.

Please help

That is a tough choice. I love BLT for the close proximity to MK. I love AKV for the quiet. I never stayed at Jambo. Always stay at Kidani. Depending on the length of your stay, why don't you do a split?

I am....Aug 6-9 at AKV and Aug 9-13 at BLT.

Great Idea to split if you don't mind moving! Personally I will never stay at BLT again. It is nice to be close to mk but we had an awful experience. Wont get into that but I have heard they are trying to get their act together. If you like the "magic" of disney then AK should be your choice of the 2. Ak is out there a bit distance wise from parks and we were apprehensive about staying there with a long walk from bus to room but the first morning there my son got up and said look look, and as he opened the blinds by the balcony there looking at us was a girraff (sp) and zebra, and other animals. We were sold on AK.

you will have fun no matter where you stay!

We had great experiences at BLT the past two years. We are about to go back next week.

I do think a split stay sounds fun though.

We stayed in Jambo house and really like it (not DVC). AKL is wonderful;great theme, pools, food and rooms. Just plan on the buses taking longer to get to everywhere but AK. We just planned on the extra time and then were not stressed about how long it took.

You will probably have better luck getting a room at AKV than BLT (especially on a studio). Also, those studios are the smallest in DVC. I would stick with AKV.

go to the member site and see what you can find.

looks like most of BLT is gone.

We  both too! And we couldn't decide either...so our fall trip is a split stay! It really is the best of both worlds! :thumbsup2

With a family of four, I'd skip the BLT studio and go with a one bedroom if it is available. You will be terribly crowded in a studio.
