Just wondering if there is a special line or section at the Contemporary for those who use online check in? Hoping (but not expecting) check in to go a bit faster as a result. I'm sure it will not if there isn't a special line. We'll be using ME.

Did not/Will not put any requests on this reservation. It's standard view so we'll just take what we get. :) First time ever staying at a MK resort.

All resorts have a online check in line that is marked with a sign on the counter.

We have found mixed success with the process. At OKW last year we stood at the online check in counter for several minutes while the regular line was waited on.

At BLT in August we were told that using online check in meant that we couldn't request any changes from what was pre-assigned.

We were extremely pleased with the regular check in for BLT. We entered the Contemporary Resort and headed towards the check in desk. A CM approached us - there is no formal "line" but, rather direction seems to be given by the CM on where to go stand.

We told him we were DVC Members checking in for the first time at BLT and he joyously escorted us over to a CM who was just opening her station announcing that we were members and arriving for our first stay there. There was absolutely no wait at all for us.

This may not be the norm, but we were very happy, and also found our room was immediately ready for check in at around 1 pm or so. We had reserved Lake View with no special requests. We were on the 6th floor facing the pool.

We have used the online checkin numerous times with good results. Although I have lost track, I think that each time our room was ready on arrival, even when getting there well before noon. Resorts used were BWV, SSR, VWL and BLT.

On one occasion, we did ask if there was another room available as the one we had been assigned didn't meet any of our requests. They looked and did find something else for us. At no point did they say we weren't allowed to change because of online checkin. The process didn't hold up anyone else waiting that was using online checkin as we moved to another CM.

We have been very happy with the on line checkin process and will likely use it for each vacation.

Thats pretty much the way things went for us. We did have a request of a higher floor and got the 11th floor lakeview. Room wasn't ready until 3 but that was fine great location.

We did online check-in at BLT but the greeter had me check-in with the first available CM. Room was ready at 10:30 AM.

Thank you all for sharing your experience. :)

I used the online check in for our BLT stay 11/6. It was the first station on the counter as you walk into the CR (after bell services counter) There was a glitch with my check in (the online check in would not accept credit card info), but the CM quickly entered the CC info and printed out new cards for us. Loved the view from our SV studio. We had what they called "forest" view. We overlooked the tennis court in the north section. Had a view of the fireworks, space mountain was a little to the left.

I'd also like to mention - on our check out day we were spending the day at MK so I left my bags with Bell Services. I had my laptop which I was concerned about - not being stolen but being accidental damaged. They have a cage that the CM's lock the bags up in. Silly me - I forgot the paperwork for DS birthday and had to go back. Very helpful. So since we were running late for breakfast - we walked to MK - took us 7 minutes.

We checked in at BLT on 11/10 and it was the only thing about the trip that wasn't smooth. No sign indicating where to go if you had checked in online (which we did) and no organized lines set up for check in as we are used to at the BWV. It was later in the evening, around 8:30 PM so that may have added to the lack of organization, but it was basically a free for all atmosphere with people standing behind others and no check in line set up.

When we went back a couple of days later to drop off a key for our daughter to pick up when she arrived, a manager met us and directed us to the proper spot. We were in and out.

So to make a long story short, I think the check in was due to the time of day, but they need to get more organized with the addition of BLT to the check in at the Contemporary.

Have fun.

We checked in on 11/8 around 1pm and they had a CM greeting and directing folks to the open spots at the check-in desk. We did not do online. Requested upper floor and they had a 10th floor MK view immediately available which we took gladly. We left our bags with bell services so we could grab some lunch and then called them for the bags + Owner's locker when we got to the room. They were there about 5 minutes after we called. Check-in took a total 10-15 minutes, if that. Overall had excellent service the entire stay. Sorry to hear evening service wasn't the same. It seems worse when you're tired from traveling late in the day. We once had a midnight check-in from delayed flights, with kids, and BCV service that time was painfully slow and seemed inexperienced.

It didn't seem worse, it was worse. We arrived at 8:30 PM by choice. We stopped at Starbucks, went out to dinner in the Crossroads area and went shopping for groceries after getting off the plane. They were not as organized in the evening as in the day at the check-in area, that was obvious to us but it wasn't a big deal.

I'm not used to being at Disney and not having some kind of queue. I've been programed to expect one and in most cases they are a good idea. There wasn't one and people were running amok between the spots that were open.

The CM who finally checked us in was great and we were out in minutes and headed up to watch holiday wishes.

I arrived at 7:30 pm and the first station was clearly marked with a large sign "Online Checkin".

The same sign was present at the BWV when I checked in there the following day.
