Hello :)

I have been a renter for many years now (I have just been waiting for the "right time" to buy). It amazes me how this has worked out for me. Not only am I ready to buy, but the stipulations I set regarding my "perfect time to buy" have now met. No need to mention requirement #1 (aka: money). ;) But requirement #2 was location, location, location. A few years ago I said I would never buy into DVC UNLESS they built another MK DVC resort. The only other option I gave myself was to buy a WLV resale, but with any luck at all I won't have to settle for this!!

Since, until now, I knew there was no way we were ready for this purchase, I have never spoken with a member of DVC sales. Can someone here tell me what to expect? (i.e., minimum number of points I will likely be required to purchase, down payment, monthly payments, other fees, etc.) Also, can this transaction only be handled if I am at WDW, or can it be taken care of long distance?

I know the first 2 weeks of sales are for current DVC members only, but I really want to jump on this offer as soon as sales are open to the public. Thanks!:thumbsup2

Minimum purchase is 160 points, $112 - $5 current incentive = $107 per point.

10% down for financing through Disney. MF expected to be $3,67 per point annually.

Sales for non members to begin Oct. 5.

You should be able to purchase over phone.

We just joined the DVC while on the Disney Magic a couple of weeks ago. We were able to talk with a lot of people on the boat. Everyone that I talked with said that they wished that they had bought sooner and had bought more points. Our agent was very patient and they are not pushy at all. We met with her 3 times before signing, and she answered our questions until we actually understood everything. We bought into the animal kingdom villas (AKV). I spoke with our agent after learning of the new resort and inquired about maybe adding more points. She said that they have a lot of points up for purchase at this resort. So don't feel like you have to jump on it October 5th. If you do want to, call one of the agents and talk with them. They may be able to get all of the information and paperwork done so that it can be executed on October 5th.

I would be glad to talk with you and tell you what kind of deals we got. You may get a better deal if you don't buy into the magic kingdom resort and buy into the AKV. If you need a name for a referral (DVC members can get referral fees), I will be glad to split the amount with you. You have to give them the name at the first contact, so PM me and I can give you my contact info. Feel free to contact me at my if you have any questions.

Good luck!

Whether you can buy over the phone depends on where you live. I see that you are in Texas and I don't know about the regulations there, but in some states if you call, the DVC rep will tell you that they can not provide any information. If that is the case, you'd have to buy in-person.

Vascubaguy is correct about maybe not being able to buy over the phone. I also live in Texas and the first time we checked into DVC, we had to buy while we were at WDW. They have to file with the state of Texas and if I remember correctly, must be a certain percent finished. After Disney does their paper work with the state of Texas, you can then buy over the phone.

Huh. We bought over the phone in May. :confused3 But we bought AKV - Jambo.
It doesn't hurt to call and ask if you can buy over the phone. :)
