Hello All,

My son is Autistic and one of his interests is the Disney Monorail. He could careless about the rides, animals, characters, but we must ride and watch the monorail every time.

Is there a view in BLT that has a good view of the monorail track? I'm assuming that MK view would work but looking for any others.

Thanks.

Recently people have been taking tours of BLT (and posting pics) but it doesn't open to guests until August 4th (I think). Once people start staying there I'm sure you'll get more feedback to your question. But you're right, MK view should have a view of the monorail track. If you have a BLT trip booked you could explain your request to MS so they could note it on your reservation. Maybe some of the standard view rooms (the ones that face the CR) would have a decent monorail view as well.

What you want is a western view (grand floridian, monorail) there are MK views on the north side which would not have a good view of the monorail. I would think 4-6th floor would be the closest but if he likes seeing it go around the lake an upper floor would be better.

Has he gotten a chance to ride in the operators compartments yet, that can be very special.

All the Tower Magic Kingdom Views at the Contemporary also come with great views of seeing the Monorail, so I would assume it would be the same for the Bay Lake Tower - Magic Kingdom View.

Thanks. Yes we only ride in the front. I'm just not sure if we can continue to do that. The wife is kind of nervous now.

Currently, people are no longer allowed to ride up front with the operators due to last week's fatal crash.

...We also have a son (11 yrs old) with autism. And he is also hopelessly in love with the monorail!! We usually stay at the CR MK VIEW because we spend so much time on the patio watching the monorails go by. First thing every morning Daddy grabs a coffee and he and DS head downstairs and ride the first of MANY, MANY trips each day!!

We purchased DVC (OKW and BLT) in the last year...with the intent of always staying at the BLT. Our first trip will be in April 2010, and plan on requesting best room for view of Monorail (we will again be spending a LOT of time on our patio watching the monorail - as he is not much into anything else either)!! Fingers are crossed we BOTH get what we request to keep our sons happy!!;)

Good Luck and Best Wishes!!:thumbsup2

There may be some standard view rooms that also have a view of the monorail. After the resort is open for awhile , we will have a better idea of views and categories.

My advice for now is to book either MK view or Standard View and ask the CM to put a special note on your reservation regarding the monorail view. I know the CMs have some ability to "free form" requests. Perhaps something like "autistic son really wants monorail view if possible, please"

That said, there should be very good views of the monorail from the walkway. :)

I agree. I suspect that some of the Standard Views are on the MK side of the resort, but just around the curve so your balcony is facing away from the MK or at a floor too low to see into the park.

Wow, Interesting. Would you imagine having both of them together! They will be in heaven!!!

I purchased in AKV and hope to add more points, hopefully of BLT to make it easier.

Thanks all for the info.

Poly has rooms that face the monorail also.
