BLT MK View worth it?

Poly Bungalows are really not that difficult. The point requirements are huge which makes them appealing to a smaller percentage of owners.

If you look at the Bungalow availability right now you could book all but 2 days in February and any other day after that during the 7 month and 11 month windows. Some days in January are also still available.

We had a lake view GV a few years ago, but it was on the north side and ajecent to a TP view thus we basically got a TP view for the price of a LV. Really just lucky on that one. We brought my DD and her cousin (they were both 3 at the time) and the view for the fireworks was awesome. You can get the music from wishes on the tv and watch the fireworks from right in the living room. Then I could but the munchkins right to sleep. It was great and next time we do BLT we will do the TP.

And If you can get a poly bungalow at 7 months, I need to talk to your planner because there is only a handful and a hug percentage of ownership at Poly.

There are 20 Poly bungalows, not all of which have yet been dedicated to DVC, and for all of 2016 and thus far 2017, they have neen open at 7 months out except for a couple days in the first week of December, DVC's highest demand week of the year at WDW. They are currently still open for all of February through June (and after) 2017 except for two days during Presidents' week in February, which did not fill until two weeks ago at 3 1/2 months out.

Many believe that the GV's and Bungalows at WDW fill fast at 11 months out, but that is not true except for the OKW GV's in the near Hospitality House booking category much of the year, and the BWV GVs at times during DVC's high demand season at WDW, which runs from late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan. During that high demand season other GV's do often disappear before 7 months out except that Kidani savanna view GV's can often be found open, and SSR GVs are usually open except for some extremely high demand times like time around Thanksgiving, first week of Dec, and time around NYE. The bungalows have been open at 7 months out during that time except for that couple days during first week of December.


During DVC's low to moderate demand season at WDW, which runs for about 8 1/2 months from the Monday after marathon weekend in Jan to the last three to four days of Sep, the BWV GV's are often filled by 7 months out but even for those you can sometimes find a week open at 7 months out. The SSR, VGF and Kidani GVs have typically been open at 7 months out during that low to moderate demand season except for the two standard GV's at Kidani which fill every once in a while before 7 months out. The OKW GV's are also usually open except for the ones in the near Hospitality House booking category, and except for some holiday times and time in June (the highest demand month in that otherwise low to moderate demand season). The BLT GV's are open about 65% of the time during the low to moderate demand season, with problems usually around holidays, and some times in May, June and late August through Sep. Jambo GV's are more hit or miss at 7 months out with openings about 50% of the time.

Just to comment on the even numbered rooms, if you aren't in the north tower for the MK fireworks, even numbered rooms in the south tower have a view of the Star Wars Fireworks, though no sound.
If I wasn't chronically low on points and you'll be back in your room to enjoy them, then I think MK view is worth it.

We just got back from our first stay as owners and I'd say the theme park view is absolutely worth it! This was our first time w/ the theme park view (previously had a lake view) and I will feel a bit sad to book anything else. We have 2 small kids who go to bed by 8 PM so we don't often get to see the fireworks (unless one parent goes out on their own while the other stays back in the room) so it was REALLY nice to be able to watch them every night from the room or the balcony. And I also loved seeing the castle lights all evening long...and in the morning (my kids are early risers so it was usually still dark when they got up). I might not be as gung ho to book a theme park view if the lights weren't up but, for December 2017, I definitely would!

My family loves theme park view. There is just something magical about waking up, pulling back the curtain and seeing the castle. We love sitting in our pj's and watching wishes from our balcony. That being said, if you think you will still be out and about at Wishes time, then I don't think it's worth the points.

You are correct. I just checked July for Poly Bungalows & all my dates were available. I am considering staying there for one night after DCL cruise.

As far as BLT goes, I usually book standard view, to save points and it is fine. We have stayed Theme Park View a few times and enjoyed it. Our 4th of July trip is Theme Park View, so we can watch the fireworks from our villa. My sister often books Lake View and it is beautiful and relaxing.

If you have enough points to book TPV then I think it's totally worth it! Alas, for us, we have to pick our poison and we'd rather stay longer so next trip I will be booking either standard or lake view.

6%. That's just silly. the entire North side even all the way back to stairs has MK view and they are all lake view as they do not have a direct view of the MK monorail. Either way, make a request. I always get North side when requested. And If I don't, I'm not really worried. I'm either in bed or not at the hotel for the fireworks anyway. LOL. The kids cant hang that long.

Isn't that like two 2BR villas on that side?

Everyone will have a different opinion. We own there and IMO the TP view isn't worth it. If we want to see the fireworks we go up to TOTWL.

We are only going for 4 nights at the beginning of Dec. Do you think I should try to upgrade to MK view for the just under $200? Or not worth it? We will have a 2 and 5 year old so we will never be able to stay that late in the park.

I think the 4th floor observation deck is now being used for fireworks viewing for the monorail dinner and drinks tour. I'm not certain how often that is but thought I saw they might have added nights.
