BLT Matching Developer Points New Thread

That is not fair....... :confused3

I'm not sure I agree with that. Lots of stores will honor a sale price if you go back and show you paid full price (within a certain time period) but they don't go chasing down every customer who paid full price and offer them a refund. They aren't obligated to honor the incentive, but they are doing so for customers who make the request.

Is it the most customer-friendly situation? Perhaps not. But I don't think it's unfair.

I agree with you.

I read your post in reference to the post above it. To me, it meant you didn't think it was fair that people have to ASK.

Sorry. I just misunderstood your post or took it in context to a post you didn't intend to reference.

Thank you all for pursuing this! I called my guide today (she is wonderful) and she's going to talk to her manager.

Wow, more points! And just when I was thinking we were going to have to borrow some 2009 points already....

After several calls by DH, we are getting DPs. Thanks to WilsonFlyer and all the others that posted.

I called our guide and she has put an email request in for us to get the developer points. She's supposed to be calling me back when she gets the answer. I'm keeping everything crossed! :)

Yea, my guide called me and she's also sending in a review email as well. Only took how many calls for her to do the next step.

I called my guide day before yesterday. I asked about the developer points even though we purchased days after the offering opened. She said "no problem" before I could even finish my request. I'm to call MS on Monday to confirm.

Our guide is fantastic  I emailed her on Tuesday asking if we could possibly have the developer points for BLT even though we purchased before the offer. Our guide must have got on to it straight away as we received the document for our developer points on Thursday by FedEx here in the UK :yay: I wouldn't have asked if a lovely friend hadn't told some people were getting the extra points. :thumbsup2

We are at SSR (leaving today)... we went to see the BLT model and had a call the next day from our guide. (They are watching!! :3dglasses !!) Telling us all we had to do was call her and leave a credit card # and we are in BLT.
There seems to be a lot of disharmony between DVC members and their guides, ours seems a bit pushy (I hate a hard sell, and like to have written info to absorb before making a decision). Has anyone switched guides? If I were buying a house and was unhappy with the real estate agent, I would move on. But, with DVC they're the only game in town...

Anyway...

She told us we would get 100 DP which needed to use by Sept./Oct '09 in SSR, Disneyland or World Passport...does anyone think we would be able to negotiate the DPs to use during a stay at BCV in Feb. 09?

And BTW I had a terrible experience on Disney transportation yesterday, which was a misunderstanding, but handled so poorly by the driver. :confused3 I'm writing a letter and will copy DVC, not that we are an elite group, but they should know when unfortunate experinces interfere with our Magical Days. I plan on using this to help negotiate the use of my DPs in 2/09...but again, they are the only game in town so....
Thanks for listening :santa: :santa: :santa:

You can always change guides. Anyone here can give you the name of theirs. I wouldn't recommend mine since she doesn't seem to want to work with me on the matching DP. But others have had plenty of good experiences.

I'm not sure about finagaling a change in places you can use your DP. They all seem pretty firm on that.

As for the bad transportation issue, I'm sorry to hear you had a bad time.

I doubt it...

DVC will not be able to negotiate your request for an exempt use on the Developer Points I am afraid.

Re the Transportation Issue, please visit our Transportation Boards as it is not a DVC specific topic. Thank you!

Just a reminder that any referrals of Guides or Members are limited only to our referral thread and not allowed on other threads. Thanks all!

My guide stinks. She still hasn't called me back about the points. And she's off yesterday and today. I'm trying to be nice since Thanksgiving just passed and that was the last time I talked to her but dang!

You think that's bad Pixerella - I originally talked to my guide about it on November 6th and I still don't know!:sad1:

That's horrible Tigger. I would call and ask to speak to a supervisor after that long. If mine doesn't call me back by tomrorow I'm going that route.

Pixerella - I did talk to a supervisor the Friday before Thanksgiving.

My guide did call this morning and we got the DP! Yeah - I'm going to start planning tonite.

I must be REALLY lucky.

Sounds like some of the "guides" need some guidance in the area of customer service and customer experience.

Maybe some of them need "guiding" out the door. :lmao:

We are both lucky to have an awesome guide!

That aside, should I be expecting paperwork to sign for my DPs or what? I cannot for the life of me remember...I guess I should call MS and see if they're in the system yet and if they aren't, call my guide to see if paperwork is on the way. I want to get my trip booked! :woohoo:

Congrats!! Well there's hope for us then. We have the same guide as Tigger and I originally called about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully we'll get a call today as well.
